A gem hidden within a forest of 2000 olive oil - First off, Giannis who runs LocalTrips4U was incredibly helpful. He fit us in last minute into the olive oil tour and I was so happy he was able to. His sister, Angela drove us to the olive mill and stayed with us the entire time. She was a lovely lady who answered our questions with enthusiasm and provided awesome insight into her family and how they grew up in the local area. Her recommendations for food and villages to visit were a hit! Finally the actual olive farm, Koronekes, was a true hidden gem. The small factory hides in forest of over 2000 olive trees owned by this family run business. The passion Kiara had for the trade was the real star of the show. They provide a beautiful story of the history behind the area. Ancient cultivation, historical methods, and modern extraction techniques were covered. Unfortunately we visited out of season so there were no active pressings during our visit but the entire work flow was covered in depth. Of course this all is followed by an array of oil tastings! Thanks to everyone involved for this wonderful experience!
