Cavernas Jumandy - Nestled deep within the lush rainforest of Ecuador lies the mystical Jumandy Caves, a natural marvel waiting to be discovered. Embark on an unforgettable journey as you venture into the heart of these ancient limestone formations, crafted over millions of years by the forces of nature.
Step into a world shrouded in mystery and adventure as you navigate through winding passages adorned with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Feel the cool breeze whispering through the caverns, carrying with it tales of indigenous legends and folklore.
Rio Pusuno - Once at the lodge, you will be greeted with an energizing tea, and our lodge manager will offer a brief orientation about the facilities. Then, we will show you to your room and proceed with the Welcome Lunch at our restaurant.
Starting from the lodge, your guide can lead you through several trails (with varying levels of difficulty) winding through the dense and humid TROPICAL RAINFOREST.
RAINFOREST TRAIL: Starting from the lodge, your guide can lead you through several trails (with varying levels of difficulty) winding through the dense and humid TROPICAL RAINFOREST.
These trails, lasting from half an hour to 4 hours, connect to the river or lake, traversing muddy paths as we search for local wildlife.
Ahuano - RIVER TUBING: After the journey, nothing is more refreshing than water. In this fun activity, you’ll float on a buoy, using your hands to paddle. With the sky and banks filled with trees, you can fully relax. You can embark on this adventure alone or with a partner. ¡Don’t forget your life jacket and sandals!
After Dinner, NIGHT HIKE: The chorus of frogs announces that the forest comes alive in the darkness. Don’t forget to bring a flashlight for this tour, where we can observe nocturnal monkeys, owls, snakes, amphibians, and even catch glimpses of caimans. It’s also an excellent opportunity to STARGAZE and identify constellations!
Jungle Lodging
IMMERSE IN HUAORANI CULTURE
Misahualli - Following breakfast, we’ll depart early in the morning in a private vehicle towards Huaorani territory.
We will stroll through the charming Amazonian village of Misahualli, where we can sample chontacuros, highly nutritious worms that are a part of the gastronomy in the tropical rainforest.
From here we cross by motorized canoe to the Kawane Lagoon (A wildlife sanctuary)
Laguna Kawana Reserva - There, we’ll embark on paddle canoes to observe a variety of species, from monkeys jumping in the trees, Hoatzins, tapirs, to charapa turtles and the impressive paiche, the giant of the Amazonian rivers.
Ahuano - Arrival at Jungle Lodge and free time to relax with our spa therapies or enjoy the lodge facilities, such as the scenic bar, walking trails, or outdoor resting areas.
In the evening, we’ll savor a delicious dinner at the lodge and have free time to reflect on the enriching experience with the Huaorani and share anecdotes with other guests.
CHOCOLATE ROUTE EXPERIENCE
Rio Pusuno - After breakfast, indulge in the Amazon on your palate as you embark on a fascinating adventure through the Chocolate Route. We’ll kick off our day with a journey among lush cocoa trees, where you’ll have the chance to taste the fruit straight from the tree and learn about the planting, harvesting, and meticulous fermentation process carried out by our “fine aroma” cocoa agrotourism project. We’ll conclude this unforgettable experience with an exciting chocolate-making and tasting session, where you’ll discover the natural benefits this delight offers to its consumers.
Termas de Papallacta - Papallacta is a tranquil Ecuadorian town situated at an altitude of 3,250 meters in the Andes, near the Eastern Cordillera, on the route to Quito.
It’s an ideal destination for relaxation and rejuvenation, thanks to the medicinal properties of its thermal waters. This is the perfect place to conclude our tour, after all the adventures we have experienced.
Quito - “With our hearts brimming with unforgettable memories, we bid adieu… carrying with us the enchantment and splendor of the Amazon rainforest. End of the Tour.”
