I recommend it if you like nature tourism - This is a half day excursion (return 13:00 to Arequipa). The program would be: departure from Arequipa stopping at a first viewpoint to see the three volcanoes and buy water/candy/coca leaves. Then drive for two hours until you reach a stall in the highlands where they have alpacas / llamas, you can see the lagoon in the background and they serve breakfast (tea, quinoa juice, avocado sandwich and cheese) for 15 suns (+10 entrance to the park). Then you go to the salt flats where you spend approx 45-60 min, making another stop later and shorter in the lagoon where there are some hot springs. The scenery is very nice and the breakfast area also, for me the activity compensates although it is true that it is quite a few hours on the bus (4 in total) compared to the time itself that you are in the places. However, it is quite frequent in the activities of the area, they involve quite long transfers in general. Special mention to Guide Omar, a pleasure!

a hidden gem - Amazing! best thing to do in Arequipa the lagoon is stunning with lots of flamingos, definitely worth it whether it’s dry or wet. The breakfast was lovely, remember to take 15 soles pp plus 20 soles for park entry. We were the only group up there and the guide was great, one of the best days ever.

I really liked Salinas with Arequipa Explorer - The best visit during my time in Arequipa was to visit Salinas, a charming place, far from the city, we were the first to arrive with the Arequipa Explorer agency to the place and we enjoyed the best landscapes, best shots and a very calm and cozy atmosphere , I recommend this company to visit the Salinas Reserve

Wonderful experience! - We had a really great time! We were one of the first people at the Lagunas and could experience this beautiful place all to ourselves.

Doesn’t worth the price - It was nice but doesn’t worth the price. Guide was late and didn’t apologize. He introduced himself only for the Spanish speaking part of the group. Didn’t provide any information proactively only when we asked. I think that it was not the best time of the year - end of June as there was still a lot of water in the lagoon. The positive part was spotting flamingos, vicuñas, llamas & alpacas. Also as we were small group we went in 4x4 vehicle which was nice. Breakfast was 10-15 soles but quite poor - it should definitely be included in the price of tour. Also we were told that hot springs are very small and only 19 degrees so we didn’t go as it’s cold in this altitude and this is not a temperature of hot springs. This should be mentioned in description.

Avoid - We had asked for an English speaking guide, but was given a Spanish speaking guide. Scenery was beautiful, but the guide was useless.
