Arequipa revealed - Very, very, very good. We usually do the open top bus in a new city to get a feel for it. But this walking tour was better. We discovered a lot more than we had done the day before - buildings, background, suggestions for things to do later. The pace was good. The tastings were excellent and you get a choice of fruits (many don't exist in other countries and they taste great) I can't praise our guide, José, enough. He answered everyone's questions, had interesting photos and diagrams and treated everybody really well. Here's some of the things that I liked: Access to a free rooftop which we went back to later to watch sunset Access to the inside of buildings Detail about buildings that you wouldn't have even noticed on your own (e.g. The blue and white symbol on many buildings, initials and objects hidden in the designs) Why the buildings are made of white stone How the buildings survive earthquakes Free museums, viewing platform to visit later Visits to places where the locals were eating great food at low prices Petting an alpaca

Great value and informative - Jose was an informative guide. He was very patient with all of the all of the group. His information helped us understand the buildings and places we walked past the day before ignorant to their significance. With the tour and the tasting experience, this tour represented a great value!

Excellent afternoon with José - We made a visit of almost 4 hours with José who explained to us with patience and passion the history of Arequipa, its architecture, its riches, its monuments. The visit was punctuated by a tasting of queso helado and pisco. Excellent value for money. It was very enriching, I highly recommend José, who in addition to being friendly speaks impeccable French!! Many thanks José, Samuel and Aurelie

Excellent! Take this tour! - We have taken many walking tours, and this was by far the best one yet. Daniel, our tour guide, was very informed and kept our interest the entire tour. We were a group of 4 people who signed up for the English tour and, upon arrival, learned that we were all in the process of studying Spanish in Peru. Daniel, on our request, did the tour in very clear and slow Spanish in order to help us all practice. Truly a great experience. Forgo the free walking tour and pay for this one- it's definitely worth it!

Good value, but title of tour was misleading - Value for money was good, but title of tour was misleading. It was a long walking tour mostly focused on architecture history of city of Arequipa, including review of various natural disasters. Tour guide was nice, but it would have been appreciated if he could have adapted the tour a bit, ie shorten the tour as we had requested. The tasting was only at the very end, the ice cream (queso helado) & the pisco… these were the best parts of the tour.
