This visit combines a walking tour through the historic center of Arequipa, learning about its history, some of its most important tourist places, and combining it at the end with the tasting and explanation of our national distillate, Pisco. We also tasted some local fruits and our emblematic dessert, Frozen Cheese. A different way to get to know Arequipa in Spanish and English (in French it is also possible but with prior coordination)

Thanks Jose! - Our tour guide was Jose. He was kind and informative. We ended up having a private tour. Would recommend this tour as it gives you the opportunity to see and try a lot of things you wouldn't normally do on your own! Be prepared for a lot of walking, but definitely worth it! We enjoyed our tour!

Fascinating, fun and all-round tour of Arequipa - Daniel, our guide, really brought our experience to life. He shared so much interesting information about the history of Arequipa as a city, the people who have lived here, the industries that have established over the years, local food, architecture, religions - everything! He was also so friendly and we asked him a million questions and he answered every single one. We had a great time chatting and learning about Arequipa. We tasted queso helado, some other food from the market, saw churches, went to Mundo Alpaca (Alpaca world!) and he told us all about the alpaca wool trade and also the formerly endangered animal Vicuña. Would 10/10 recommend this tour! On the day, the restaurant where we planned to do the Pisco tasting was closed so Daniel kindly organised for his colleague José to do the tasting and Pisco lesson the next day which was also so great - we learnt so much and the place you taste the Pisco have an award winning Pisco sour (the best place to drink it in Arequipa!)

An enjoyable walking tour with some fun tastings. - This tour was a great introduction to Arequipa on our first day. We learned about the city’s history and culture. We also got an introduction to some key sites within Arequipa. Our favorite parts were visiting the mercado to sample some food and the pisco tasting at the end. We really enjoyed pairing the pisco with different bites to see how the foods influenced the taste.

Arequipa - Jose was a fantastic tour guide. This tour was a great introduction to Arequipa. I particularly enjoyed the trip to the market and tasting some Peruvian specialty foods. I definitely recommend this tour for your first day so that you get your bearings. Jose pointed out several places that I could go back to after the tour was over and I took his advice.

Great guide! - José is a great guide and knows all the details about the city and it's history! His English is really good and he seems to know the local people. Using this guide we got to know places we were not planning to visit!

The best way to discover Arequipa - Such a great experience! Jose the guide is very knowledgeable, I learned a lot of things I didn't expect about the history, beliefs, culture and lifestyle of the people around Arequipa. The visit to the market was my personal favorite, I went back after the tour to get more food! The pisco tasting was so much better than a pisco vineyard tour I did in the Ica region! Jose taught me how to recognize various types of pisco, how to drink it and what to pair it with. Totally recommend!

Eat and drink Arequipa! - If you are like me, and love to try new foods in other countries, but feel a bit intimidated because you don't know what you are doing...then this tour is for you. Jose makes it fun and interesting to experience local flavors and points out details that you would never notice. He is very proud of Arequipa and it shows. This tour is an incredible value considering the time and variety of things that you get to sample. I highly recommend.
