Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve - 07:30 am - Experience the ease of being picked up in Arequipa and journey to the delightful town of Chivay. Relish the stunning views of the Andes along the way, with stops at the vast natural reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, where you can see llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas (a rare wild species related to the alpaca) in their natural environment.
Abra Patapampa - As the journey continues, pause at the highest point on the route, the Patapampa natural viewpoint, at 4,900 meters above sea level. Take in the awe-inspiring views of the Andean volcanic mountain range. Then, descend to Chivay town where you will be escorted to your accommodation.
La Calera Thermal Waters - In the afternoon, relax and enjoy a soothing time at the La Calera Hot Springs before proceeding with the trip to Colca the following day.
TOUR TO COLCA CANYON ENDING IN PUNO CITY
Maca - 6:30 am - You will be picked up from your accommodation in Chivay to start the exploration of Colca Canyon. On the way, a stop will be made in the charming town of Maca to visit its beautiful Santa Ana Church. This enchanting 18th-century colonial church is famous for its stunning Baroque Mestizo architecture, featuring intricate carvings and vibrant frescoes. Inside, you’ll discover exquisite gold-leaf altars and artworks that showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Andes.
Mirador Antahuilque - The journey continues to Antahuilque, a breathtaking viewpoint located in the Colca Canyon, Peru. Situated at an altitude of over 3,700 meters, it offers spectacular panoramic views of the Andes and the intricate terraced fields cultivated by the ancient Collaguas. Visitors can admire the colorful lakes and the vast expanse of the canyon.
Mirador Cruz del Condor - The tour includes a stop at the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, the ideal spot to appreciate the canyon in all its splendor. Here, you’ll witness majestic condors at their best, soaring gracefully above the chasm. After this unforgettable experience, the journey will return to the town of Chivay to continue the trip to Puno city.
Laguna Lagunillas - On the way to Puno, a stop will be made at the Lagunillas viewpoint to observe the South American plateau at its finest. From this vantage point, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the high Andean plains, dotted with azure lakes and teeming with wildlife like flamingos and Andean geese.
