Highlights
  • Perito Moreno Glacier - The best known and most impressive glacier in Los Glaciares National Park.

This glacier shows a surprising and curious phenomenon, in which its great mass of ice continuously advances, causing the accumulation, rupture and detachment of gigantic blocks of ice on its 5 km wide front, located on the Canal de los Témpanos; that’s where the numerous ice fragments of the glacier sail.

The front of the glacier exceeds 60 meters above the water at its maximum height, from where pieces of various sizes fall continuously, producing a stridency comparable to the sound of thunder.

  • Pasarelas Perito Moreno - Upon reaching the Perito Moreno Glacier, we will cross the walkways that have balconies at different levels and angles connected by paths and stairways which can be covered in its entirety during the excursion and thus we will be able to appreciate this impressive and wonderful glacier from different points.

Amazing tour even better tour guide - Wow what a beautiful site to see. My family and I really enjoyed this tour and our tour guide was so knowledgeable and gave us so much information regarding the region of Patagonia & Perito Moreno. We were really happy to have booked this tour not just cause of the sites but the amount of information our tour guide gave us was incredible. She really knew how to keep her guest on their toes showing us animals in the region we saw along the way and stopping to see some incredible sites as well. I highly recommend booking this tour.

Unmissable tour - the hotel we stayed at scheduled tours, we booked the tour with them including food (it's not worth the food, almost everything was very bland) it's worth closing without food and getting snacks, empanadas and things like that on site as there's a way to to do. During the transfer to the point, the guide asked if we wanted to include a boat trip near the glacier, and we accepted, it was the best thing we did, we paid a little more but it was worth it, if I were to advise I would say take this trip The entrance to the park was 30 dollars per person, if you come back the next day you only pay 50%,

Excellent - A wonderful place 😍 Our day was sunny ☀️ and the views were beautiful and not to mention the landslides we saw 😍 but I want to highlight the guide that Roxana took us sincerely was so generous with her knowledge as she shared with us everything she knows about the glacier, its history and the data of everything. A genius! The tour is highly recommended and if it's Roxana and Nico as the driver 👏🏼👏🏼 they will have a great time.

Walking on ice with crampons in the magnificence of the Perito Moreno glacier - An almost obligatory excursion when you travel to Calafate. A nice catamaran takes you to the side of the glacier while you observe those large masses of ice that constitute the Perito Moreno glacier. Then the most interesting part begins, which is trekking through the ice above the glacier. They put special shoes on you for walking on ice called crampons and you slowly advance along an absolutely unique path. The guides are generally young people, very well trained, who tell you about the geographical characteristics of the place. It also has the benefit of being a nice physical exercise surrounded by the magnificent mass of ice and a very slick terrain that is not snow!!! Oh, and as a final touch, the excursion closes with a toast of whiskey on the rock (literally, with ice from the glacier). Fun and a more physical alternative to the typical walk along the catwalks. And if you're lucky, you may see some collapse on the boat ride, but that is more unusual.

Glacier is amazing - Glacier is brilliant . Guid was very informative and interesting Unfortunately because it’s a tourist trap you are exploited with very high prices to pay for a very simple tour and being ripped off in the restaurant with high prices

Don’t go in the winter. - We are in Calafate now having flown down from Buenos Aires especially to see the glacier. We drove an hour to the national park to be told it was closed due to the treacherous road conditions so we have had a wasted and expensive journey. … Unfortunately there is no maintenance of the roads through the park and although we believe they have machines to clear the ice they were not using them and there was talk of some politics at play within the local authority. It is winter here but there hasn’t been exceptionally bad weather so my advice would be not to come in winter, for us it was a very expensive mistake.
