Fantastic trip and guide - A wonderful day trip to the magical island of Ithaca. A perfectly balanced schedule, but the day was really made by our guide, Diamond, who is clearly passionate and highly knowledgeable about the island. Great recommendations for the lunch and afternoon coffee break too. It was a long day, but so glad I did it!

Memorable experience on this beautiful island. - Visit Ithaca Island is a must. It's a very beautiful island were time seems moving slower than normal. This tour is giving the opportunity to visit the most important spots on the island in one day. It was a great memorable experience.

Magical Experience s. - This excursion was my second tour with KE during my week in Kefalonia, the first was the full island tour. Both were booked at Lourdas office with the help of the really lovely lady Georgia. Both excursions were absolutely fantastic. From the drivers, the guides Duska and Memi everything was fantastic. A very big thank you to all at KE, especially to Georgia who made it happen thank you Georgia.
A truly magical journey through Kefalonia and Ithaca.

Georgia is the best! - we went on holiday to kefalonia for a week and prior to coming we didn’t really have any plan on what we were going to do then on our first day we bumped into Georgia from kefalonia excursion and she was the most helpful and friendliest and amazing lady who not only recommended three tours to do but also which days were best to do them taking into account the weather. all three of the tours were amazing and we had such a good time on all of them. our favourite was the ithaca cruise!!! and we learnt that whatever Georgia says you definitely do!! she made our time here so amazing and we will definitely be coming back!!!

Wonderful tour of Ithaca - Picked up very early doors but we were on the opposite side of the island to Sami! Departure was 8am from Sami, although I think the tour description says 9am!
We got the ferry over to Ithaca, took around 35 minutes. Back on the coach then our day really began.
We visited some beautiful parts of this lovely island, had good length stops. We got on the boat around 2 ish then we were on it for around 90 minutes with a swimming break in a little cove.
It was a great day, loved Ithaca, such a quiet laid back island, as Greek islands were in the 80’s!

Better than expected! - Did not get from the description that this was a Tui coach tour! So was a bit worried when we stepped onto the coach full of older couples. Overall though it was a really interesting trip to a really beautiful island! We stopped at several of the main villages.Complete with boat trip and swim stop!

Great island, great trip but tour guide was underwhelming - Overall the trip was very enjoyable and provided a great day trip experience to Ithaca, particularly the boat trip. Seeing the Ionian islands and coast from the sea is the most magical way to experience the Ionian islands and coast. Unless you can afford a private yacht or tour, this tour is best way to see it all. It would have been nice to spend a little longer at the Vathy, Kioni and/or Frickes as there was only just enough time for breakfast and lunch respectively but I appreciate there is a lot to see. Our tour was booked through Tui which perhaps influenced the agenda.
Positives - a highlights day trip that squeezed as much as possible into a day around ferry times. If you want a more leisurely tour, you'll need to stay over and book things independently. Ithaca offers wonderful scenery, history, food and typical friendly Ionian hospitality.
Neutrals - the trip is limited to ferry times therefore, accepting Greek food service is never a rushed experience, you have little time for sight seeing in any of the stops if you also need refreshments (which given the very early start) is most needed. Our pickup specifically said it would pick us up at the hotel (like any other trip I've taken from that hotel), but the driver stopped on the road at the entrance - we only knew this due to seeing its headlights in the dark at that time of the morning and had to walk up the drive to be greeted by someone grumpy at having kept him waiting. Lastly the boat trip, whilst wonderful, be aware that if you want to change below deck to go swimming, everyone can see you through the windows on deck.
Ferry Crossing - Beware of Ionian Ferry refreshment service. When I came to pay for two coffees, a euro had been added on to each drink. I challenged the server and pointed out the price list on the wall and what it should cost. To his much annoyance he said he had been mistaken but I wonder how many other customers had been over-charged?
Negatives - the tour guide was very pleasant but it felt that she did not know the island or tour very well despite saying she had only been there the week before. The guide read off a script and added very little to the narrative or experience and for 2 miles of one stretch of the tour was dedicated to promoting the Tui preferred restaurant that we were encouraged to eat lunch at. Much of the tour stops makes reference to the mythical history of Odysseus - its been some years since I last picked up my Greek Classics and so much of the context of the narrative was lost until the very end of the journey when the guide seemed to remember to tell us the story of Odysseys. It would have been better at the start. Beyond the script, the guide didn't really explain any detail and apart from making sure we were all on the coach, the information could have been on a print out. Whilst very pleasant, the guide didn't stop to check if people could even hear - at Kioni we were quickly marched through the town from the boat to the coach. We stopped at a map but due to the passing mopeds and cars, we couldn't hear much of what was said - the guide seemed keen to get us to our lunch stop. Other information was given but not beyond what it said on the script. I had more questions than time to ask.
Had our guide been more enthusiastic and knowledgeable, I would have rated the trip higher.
