It's dusty but amazingly beautiful. - We wanted so that bit different and weren't unhappy. We were picked up from our hotel and traveled to a meeting point where all the jeeps assembled. A quick briefing and a photo (which you can purchase and we did), then it was off. Up twisty roads (you get used to them here) with some photo stops. Then it's off road for a bit... Its dusty. Personally we didn't find it too bad but you do need to be prepared for it and perhaps think about finding a bandana or bringing out a covid mask (as someone did in our group). Once back on the road it's a stop in Fataga for a meal (extra cost) but we didn't feel pressured so just got soft drinks and sat outside for 1 hour which we enjoyed. A quick drive to an aloe vera plantation and a few testers before heading back. All in all a great time and experience.

Excursion definitely recommended! - Booked: Guide to English A super nice Guide / driver, happened to speak Dutch (nice). Pick up point you can choose, for us only 5 minutes walk, favorable. Arrived on time, drive to meeting place shop center. Group photo taken, possibility for toilet. 30 minutes or so. It explains exactly what we can expect, where we are going. You have to be able to withstand the bumps, since there is also driving between the mountains, this can go crass and hard because of stones and potholes. For us it was super fun and laughable. (This was also mentioned beforehand that we have to counteract bumpy road and you can be shaken). If you are less resistant to dust, bring a scarf or bandana. For us it wasn't so bad, but if you don't encounter that's a tip. Drivers who get along nicely, play jokes. All respectful and entertaining for all of us. Lots of laughs. Lunch in a nice village (stopover) for 15 euros that you are offered (running buffet, as much as you want) also everything you want to drink, delicious! Add water and sangria. The stops were perfect with time, not too long but also not too short. Possibility for questions and explanations is certainly there! You also have plenty of time for the photo moments. All in all, very successful excursion!! Definitely recommended. Extra deserved compliment to our driver Paul.

Great adventure - We had a lot of fun and our guide was great too. We drove to some great viewpoints and had enough time to look at everything at each stop. We didn't like the buffet at lunchtime. The price of €15 wasn't justified for us. But you don't have to eat there. It was voluntary.

Great, but accept bumps, cliffs and dustyness - Overall a great trip, with some amazing views included, i would recommend it though take water, suncream and a hat. Also note this is a 4x4 canyon trip so expect it to get bumpy, dusty and pretty hairy in places. Some shapperoning for lunch and places to buy, but not too excessive or forced on you.

Informative and different learning about Gran Canaria. - A different way to see and learn more about Gran Canaria. We had an English/German speaking guide who informed at each stop. The driver spoke only Spanish, but did his part to make the trip more exciting, by finding the biggest holes when we got outside the road. Fortunately, we drove in front and got rid of the winding dust, which almost hid those running behind. Sad to hear that the southern island has not seen water for 2 years, which was seen clearly on the almost empty water reservoirs. You should not expect luxury seats and air conditioning, but as primitive it can be when driving open Landrover. Lunch stops and Aloevera visits are totally OK and support the locals financially (if you buy something).

Wear clothes that you don't want to wear again during the holiday as you will get dusty. Also take bottled water. - We booked this tour via an agent based down near the beach in Playa des Ingles. I think it may have been cheaper booking direct - but we were happy due to the convenience of using the agent and the process was easy and we were given all the relevant information. We were picked up in a jeep direct from our hotel at the agreed time then drove to the main rendezvous point with all the other jeeps. Note that the drivers all speak a variety of languages - so you may end up with a driver who doesn't speak your language. On our trip there was a mixture of tourists from UK - Germany - Spain and Netherlands. So at each stop you just meet up with the guide who speaks your language. For us that meant our driver didn't give any extra commentary during the drive because she only spoke Spanish - but she was friendly enough so we didn't see this a problem. The trip itself take you up into the mountains of the island with a few stops along the way for either toilet break or a photo opportunity. The English speaking guide was really fun - engaging and informative. Our favourite bit of the trip was where we went off road and it gets a bit bumpy - really fun but unfortunately for us this is actually only a very short section of the trip. The views were really spectacular and for me totally unexpected for the Canary Islands. You stop at an Aloe Vera farm which is OK - Yes they do try and sell you their products but I think that's to be expected after all that's how they make a living - and you can always say no. The lunch stop was OK - nothing special. The dinner is an optional extra - but realistically we didn't really have time to find an alternative place to eat. The offered buffet wasn't too expensive and included drinks so we were happy to pay. Overall I would recommend this trip as something a bit different to do while on holiday and you do get to see a little of the sland beyond your hotel walls.

Not up to TUI standard. No information from non-English speaking driver. - This excursion did not meet the promises made online or meet our expectations. Our driver did not speak English, one other driver did speak English but gave no information to our group apart from 'don't stand up in the jeep' & on 3 occasions trying to sell us videos (Hard sell of videos & this seemed to be his main concern throughout the excursion). We expected to be told of the day's itinerary, a brief introduction of the island, how the mountain ranges were formed and what we were actually seeing & maybe the local flora & fauna. We had no idea of what we were seeing or any points of interest. We were just passengers in a 'mystery tour' off road rally. On such dangerous tracks it is unbelievable that they need to play 'cat & mouse' to be a few feet behind the jeep in front especially in a dust storm where it is impossible to see the edge. At one stop, which we later learnt was the highest point and would have been of interest, none of our group got out of the jeep as we understood it was just to see if we could see the vehicle that had gone over the edge the previous day - very ghoulish! We had no confidence in our driver as he could not communicate with us, gave the impression it might have been his first time or that he was very inexperienced. We were also concerned at the worthiness of the jeep as nothing seemed to work on it, there was a red warning lights on the dashboard throughout the journey, the horn wouldn't work until about half way through the trip, the radio wouldn't work & both rear windows wouldn't open (not ideal on such a very hot day). The driver was unable to pick up directly outside the hotel as he didn't know how to gain access to the Hotel, the jeep picking up the German tourists had no problem earlier, and on our return had to borrow my room key to activate the barrier. At the Hotel I visited the TUI rep.,to voice my complaint but she said she couldn't do anything about it as I had booked it online and would have to make the complaint online and shouldn't book excursions in the UK I should wait until we arrive in destination and book through the rep. Is this Company policy? If so, why are they sending out emails encouraging clients to book in advance? As I didn't have the facilities to do this until I arrived home but wanted to register a complaint immediately she agreed to contacting TUI on our behalf, neither the rep. or ourselves received any reply whilst we were still in Gran Canaria. She asked if we had been shown a specific lake (No we hadn't), had we had mountain formations of 'the sleeping giant', 'the praying priest' & famous ' Roque Nueblo' pointed out to us (No we hadn't). This excursion was a fiasco and not at all what I expected or have experienced with TUI in the past.

Avoid at all cost, dangerous and non English speakinh guides. - Worst trip ever. Guide doesn't speak any English at all. Got left behind, jeeps broke down, parts fell off the jeep, down right unsafe.
