Great guided experience - Awesome experience and the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended. Can not say anything more. Was able to see and learn soo much I had no idea about and he went above and beyond to get me in the right place and the right time for photo opportunities

Taking a tour of Arlington with Eric is an absolute gift - Our group of 3 people visited Washington from Australia back in October 2024, but I have only just gotten around to writing this review. I booked this tour on the basis of previous reviews, the more detailed offering, the small group size and that it would have the insight of a veteran. What I didn’t realise when booking, is just how fabulous and insightful this tour would end up being. No one else had booked that day so it was just the 3 of us with Eric. I’ve travelled quite a lot in my life and would rank the time we spent with Eric Hommel at Arlington as one of the best tours I have EVER taken. Eric is generous with his time, and in sharing his intimate knowledge of Arlington and its workings. He will ask you if you have any time restrictions up front as he has a tendency to go overtime. The pace of the tour is comfortable, yet in talking with Eric the time passes quickly.Truth be told I could have spent the entire day there with him, but I was conscious of his time and that he had already given so freely of it. You will see all the major highlights of Arlington and more, but you will experience it at far more personal level and will walk away with a much deeper understanding. Eric genuinely cares about Arlington and those interred there, as well as his guests, and the world events that led us to where we are now. I subsequently discovered Eric had also written a book “The Losing Game: How to Lose a War and Fail Veterans” which I later purchased and have just now finished reading. Having completed it, I’m even more grateful that I booked this Arlington Cemetery tour with him and realise what a gift his time was to our group. If you want to take a tour with someone who is intelligent, humble and extremely personable, who genuinely cares and has a tremendous amount of insight this is the tour for you. You will walk away not only having taken a tour or Arlington, but with first hand accounts that will touch you. Eric - if you read this review. Thank you again for the generosity of your time, knowledge and in sharing your insights and experience. This tour stay with me forever.

great - our tour was led by a very knowledgeable and experienced man. we learn some very interesting bits of history. the walk was long but he kept us informed the whole way. i would recommend this tour to anyone who has the ability to take the trail.....

Absolutely amazing, highly recommend - The tour with Eric was amazing. He is very knowledgeable about the cemetery and its history, development, architecture, and practices as well as the stories of the people who are laid to rest there. He weaved a lot of facts into a very understandable picture. I walked away feeling like I had a deeper understanding of American history and its complexities.

Eric is the best! - Eric was absolutely amazing, kind patient and most of all tremendously knowledgeable! He was so wonderful with our young girls and focused on making it an especially enjoyable experience for them and us parents too.
