Discovering Búzios: A Journey Through Time and Waves

Búzios, a picturesque peninsula in Brazil, has long been on my radar. Known for its stunning beaches and vibrant culture, it promised an adventure that I couldn’t resist. As a professional surfer, I’m always on the lookout for new coastal gems, and Búzios seemed like the perfect blend of history and surf. The Sou Buziano Land excursion was my gateway to exploring this enchanting town, and it didn’t disappoint.

The journey began at Praca Santos Dumont, a lively square that set the tone for the day. Our guide, Alex, was a local with a wealth of knowledge about Búzios’ rich history. The highlight was Rua das Pedras, a street that seemed to pulse with the energy of its storied past. It’s a place where history and modernity coexist, and I found myself captivated by its charm.

We continued to the Orla Bardot Boardwalk, where the ocean’s whispers seemed to echo the stories of old. The Brigitte Bardot Statue stood as a tribute to the actress who fell in love with this region, and I couldn’t help but feel a connection to her passion for the sea. As the land tour concluded, the call of the ocean was irresistible. The optional catamaran sea tour was a chance to explore Búzios from a different perspective. Sailing past 12 beaches and 3 islands, I was reminded of the countless hours I’ve spent chasing waves in Central America. The water was inviting, and the opportunity to snorkel and capture the beauty of the Búzios peninsula was too good to pass up.
