- Monastery Sevanavank - A marvelous scene opens in the north-western part of Sevan Lake, where the peninsula towers over the transparent surface of the lake. Sevanavank monastery was built on the peninsula in 874 by the order of king Ashot Bagratuni’s daughter princess Mariam. The silhouette of the churches against the background of the turquoise lake and blue sky casts unexplainable impression on the visitors.

Amazing private tour of Lake Sevan and Khor Virap! - We spent a lovely morning along the shores of lake Sevan. Our private driver was Hamik! He was very friendly and gave us an amazing tour. He suggested to take us to Khor Virap as well. Along the way he gave us history of the region and answered any questions we had. Next time I book a private tour, I’ll definitely ask for Hamik!

Lake Sevan, Sevanavank Monastery 1/2 day trip - Very enjoyable trip. The car arrived as scheduled and the drive itself was comfortable. The driver, Gregory, was very courteous and cautious.
The lake, the view and the monastery buildings were beautiful and interesting. However, if we had made the trip without Tamara, it would have been much less informative experience. She is a delightful, knowledgeable guide. She provided a wealth of insight into the history of places along our route in addition to information at our destination.
As a side note - The trip is listed as taking "5-6 hours". Hyur Service might consider reducing the advertised time. Unless there was serious traffic or additional stops, the total travel time is less.

5 hour getaway from Yerevan - Being in Yerevan for couple of weeks with a weekend in a middle definitely calls for weekend get away. As no particular plans was in places we decided late Saturday night to be outside city first thing in a morning ad Sevan was our choice. By the time we were making decision we did not had option to join a group, so we went for private tour and it was absolutely best choice. Pick up was in our hotel / drop off we could chose, stops to take some photos is just a matter of asking and last, but not least our guide Sam made this experience fun and entertaining sharing information about sites and through out the rote along with interesting facts on Armenia.

Lake Sevan and Sevanavak - We we guided by Anahit and our driver was Gegam. The road to Sevan took some time, but we were entertained by the interesting facts from our guide about the area we were passing by. We made a stop near the Sevanavak where we've learned al lot about the place and took quite some photos as surroundings are really picturesque there. Keep in mind that due to the 2km altitude it's colder near the lake than in Yerevan.
