- Hovhannavank Monastery - The Hovhanavank Monastery complex is found in the village of Hovhanavan, perched on the edge of the Kasakh River gorge. It is believed to be dedicated to Jesus’ Baptist, St. Hovhannes Mkrtich.
- Amberd Fortress - The medieval Amberd Fortress is located on the southern slopes of Mount Aragats, far from bustling cities. It stands on a rocky cliff at an elevation of 2100 meters, protected on two sides by deep gorges at the confluence of the Amberd and Arkashen rivers. A single serpentine road, which winds through the mountains, leads to it, making it inaccessible in winter when snow covers the area. Amberd’s history dates back to the 7th century. Despite its excellent defenses, it was invaded by the Seljuks from Central Asia at the end of the 11th century. The architecture of Amberd is straightforward, with fortress walls made of massive basalt tiles that once provided protection from shells and siege weapons. Some foundations and a few walls have been preserved within the fortress.
- Armenian Alphabet Monument - The Armenian Alphabet Monument, located on the western slope of Mount Aragats, was built in 2005 to commemorate the 1600th anniversary of the creation of the Armenian alphabet.
