  • Schloss Artstetten - Our first stop is Schloss Artstetten, more than just a castle, it’s a key to the past. This enchanting castle is not just an architectural marvel but also a deeply personal monument, famously connected to Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Schloss Artstetten, nestled in Austria’s picturesque countryside, stands as a testament to history and heritage. Its halls and exhibits offer a unique glimpse into the life and legacy of the figure whose assassination sparked World War I. But don’t worry, we keep it light and engaging, focusing on the human side of history that touches the heart.
  • Schallaburg - Then, we’ll wander through the enchanting halls of Schallaburg Castle, where every stone and corner has a tale to tell. It’s not just about the past; it’s about feeling the whispers of history in a place where every room has a story waiting to be heard.

Schallaburg Castle captivates with its stunning Renaissance architecture and beautifully manicured gardens, embodying a period of cultural flourishing. The castle’s rich tapestry of history, from its role in shaping regional narratives to its status as a cultural beacon, is vividly brought to life. Here, the Renaissance spirit is not just observed but felt, making Schallaburg an integral, immersive highlight of our journey through Austria’s past.

  • Melk Abbey - Our adventure peaks at the stunning Melk Abbey, a beacon of beauty on the Danube. This isn’t your typical historic tour; it’s about connecting with the spirit of a place that has inspired countless souls through the ages. Melk Abbey, a baroque masterpiece perched above the serene Danube River, is a highlight of our tour. Absolutely Stunning and Chock Full of History - First of all, I am so thankful for this tour as I could not find the Artstetten Castle on any other tour and I really wanted to see it! It did not disappoint and Janie, our tour guide, and Vladimir, driver, were DELIGHTFUL! We ended up having the whole tour to ourselves and Janie was so knowledgeable, full of so much historical information that added so much value to the excursion. This area is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, meticulous, and serene area. The castle was so inspiring. The Archduke’s love story was fascinating, he fell in love with a lady in waiting to the woman who was to marry him and sacrificed much of his nobility inheritances and then to have been assassinated and have been the catalyst to WWI made this so much more of an impactful stop. Schallaburg was also very beautiful and a mix of medieval and Renaissance architecture and full of history. And the Melk Abbey, which is the crown jewel of Melk, is stunning. Everyone sees that and we wouldn’t have wanted to have missed it, but so happy to have the two castles as an option. We loved Janie so much, we booked a Bratislava tour with her the next day since they had the opening. This is her home town. I highly recommend this tour group and cozy tours.
