A Day in Paradise: Our Family Adventure on De Palm Island
When we decided to take a family trip to Aruba, De Palm Island was at the top of our list. Known for its all-inclusive Caribbean adventure, it promised a day filled with fun, relaxation, and unforgettable memories. As a family travel writer, I was eager to experience it firsthand and share our adventure with you.
Premium Seating and Flamingo Friends
Upon arrival, we opted for the premium seating area near the flamingos, as all the cabanas were booked. This exclusive area came with a private bar and a friendly bartender named Jay, who made sure our drinks were always topped up and our needs met. The premium seating was a splurge, but it offered a peaceful retreat from the bustling crowds.
The flamingos were a highlight for the kids. They were open to everyone until 2:00 PM, and we were able to take pictures without feeling rushed. After 2:00 PM, the flamingos roamed freely on the beach, and only those in the premium area could interact with them. It was a magical experience for the kids, who loved watching these elegant birds up close.
Snorkeling and Banana Boat Thrills
Next on our agenda was snorkeling, and it did not disappoint. The water was a bit rough, but the abundance of colorful fish made it worth the effort. We joined a private snorkeling tour led by Kevin, who was knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable for everyone. The tour was free, but we gladly tipped Kevin for his excellent service.
The banana boat ride was another highlight. Peter and Gino ensured we had a thrilling yet safe ride, and the kids couldn’t stop talking about it afterward. It was a perfect blend of excitement and laughter, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the island.
Water Slides and Relaxation
The water slides were a hit with both the kids and adults. While we didn’t explore the smaller water park, the main slides provided plenty of entertainment. It was a joy to see the kids’ faces light up as they zoomed down the slides, and even my husband and I couldn’t resist joining in the fun.
In between activities, we took advantage of the all-inclusive food and drinks. The buffet lunch was delicious, and the snack bar kept us fueled throughout the day. The specialty frozen cocktails were a refreshing treat under the Caribbean sun.
Overall, our day on De Palm Island was a fantastic family adventure. The premium seating added a touch of luxury, but the real value was in the variety of activities and the quality time spent together. Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, De Palm Island offers something for everyone. It’s a must-visit for families looking to create lasting memories in paradise.
