Great quiet park - Whilst staying at Jetwing Surf Hotel we booked a morning safari to Kumana Park. Hotel made the arrangements and everything went very well. Collected at 05:00 and after a fifty minute drive arrived just before 06:00 ready for the opening of the park. After seeing a Mongoose up close followed at a lagoon by Crocodiles and many Storks, Egrets and Pelicans we moved on to another quite small lagoon and saw a male leopard resting high up on the branch of a dead tree. After about fifteen minutes he Leopard decided to come down the tree and walk across the road in front of our jeep and rest on a mound of earth which looked like a termite’s nest. The Leopard stayed here for another twenty minutes, it didn’t move when we moved off and was still there when we drove past again some twenty minutes later. Obviously seeing the leopard was the highlight of the morning as well as seeing a couple of Elephants. Great park with very few jeeps.
