Highlights

Arusha to Miriakamba Hut\n\nMount Meru - After early morning breakfast in Arusha (1400m), you will be picked up from your hotel and brought to the Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. At this time, the porters will organize and pack the belongings for the hike while you and your guide register with the Tanzania National Park.\n\nYou will then begin your ascent in Arusha National Park. The first day of hiking is similar to a walking safari; you should expect to see giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and potentially elephants near the trail. Due to the high possibility of spotting wildlife, an armed ranger, hired through the National Park, is required to hike with our team for the duration of the hike. As you continue hiking, you will pass the Ngarenanyuki River and a beautiful waterfall at the base of Mt. Meru. Upon arriving at Miriakamba Hut (2500m), your chef will prepare a hot dinner and washing water for you. Enjoy the beautiful sunset and overnight.\n\nDuration: 5-7 hours of hiking.\nArusha (1400m) \’96 Miriakamba Hut (2500m).

Additional Information

Experience a unique walking adventure to Mount Meru, the first landmark you’ll notice upon arrival in Arusha town. This majestic mountain, standing at an elevation of 4,566 m (14,990 feet), is the second-tallest peak in Tanzania, surpassed only by Kilimanjaro. It also ranks as the fifth tallest on the African continent. Mount Meru showcases two notable peaks: the topmost Meru Summit and Ash Cone, a secondary peak within the crater that emanated from recent volcanic activity. Many trekkers choose to ascend Mount Meru prior to tackling Kilimanjaro to aid in acclimatization.

  • It is a private hiking.

Excellent Service - It was undoubtedly one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. Everything was wonderful. The wildlife is amazing. We got to see all the Big Five and breathtaking scenery. The accommodations were wonderful, as were the meals. Our guides were awesome and did everything to make the games perfect. It is very worthwhile, it is an experience that everyone should do at least once in their life.
