Wonderful variety and enthusiastic, skilled guides - This tour was a real adventure. Our group of ten in two safari vehicles were treated to a rich African experience. At the core were game drives in three National Parks where our skilful driver/guides got us close to many animals. We camped in the Serengeti surrounded by wildlife and catered for by our excellent cooks who travelled with us. Everything was organised to help us experience the best of Tanzania - processing coffee on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, visiting a Masai village in the Ngorongoro, learning about the Chagga culture based around banana beer, fun filled spice plantation and Stone Town tours with the delightful Ali - all wonderful experiences. As always it’s the people who make the difference - the laughing Mashaka who organised everything down to a rousing celebration of my 74th birthday complete with African drums and dancing: the delightful Mwini and Manu who led us through animal encounters and taught us patience to witness the amazing crossing of the Mara River; and our lovely cooks of course - one big happy family by the end. Don’t hesitate, book with Adventure HQ Tanzania for an experience of Africa

Unforgettable Experience Game Driving in the Serengeti - Words could never begin to express my time in Tanzania, but I am going to try. I was met by the man himself - Mashaka, waiting for me at Arusha airport, the biggest smile and with arms wide, he enveloped me in the biggest hug. The itinerary packed so much into our 8 day tour of mainland Tanzania - every single hour of every single day planned out meticulously. My tour group visited Mt Kilimanjaro (she made her appearance on our last morning, just for a wee little while, to let us know she was always there, watching over us); Tarangire National Park; Serengeti National Park; Ngorongoro Crater; a working Maasai village ... and so much more. Mashaka tweaked the itinerary so that we would spend one day in Northern Serengeti - hoping to witness the "Eighth Wonder of the World" - the wildebeest crossing. I swear he must have had a word in the ears of the 4 zebra that day, because across the Mara River the wildebeest did cross. The anticipation was as good as the actual crossing - I will be forever indebted to our drivers who raced from riverbed to riverbed in the hope to witness this incredible event. To our drivers - Emanuel (Manu) and Mwinyi; I am ever so grateful you were ours for the 6-7 days of game driving. Your knowledge, commitment and tireless efforts in making our game drives so successful made our tour so much fun. I absolutely loved my time with you. You became our family; you taught us, teased us, laughed with us, ate with us, and took our lives in your careful hands, and took care of us. I can't begin to describe my time in the parks we visited - bouncing along on the unsealed roads, the thrill of spotting an abundance of wildlife, seeing zebras, elephants, giraffes and wildebeest cross in front of us, lions so close you could almost touch them. We visited a banana plantation, with exceptional guides; we learned how to make banana beer, we sang songs about banana beer(!!); learned about the 120 different tribes who live in harmony (if only the Western world would take note!!!). We departed the mainland for our final week in exotic Zanzibar - a week to rest, recover recharge... and just be. We participated in a walking tour of the old Stone Town in Zanzibar, with an absolutely superb, knowledgeable, comical guide, who had us in fits of laughter with his "Aussie slang". We visited Prison Island, a haven for giant tortoises and snorkelled and swam in the beautiful waters offshore. We received a guided tour at a spice plantation, again with the fabulous Ali, during which we learned about the history of this island's renowned spice trade. We touched, smelt, and tasted, off the trees and bushes, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, chilli and jack fruit. I left Tanzania, sad to leave, but grateful for the exceptional experience provided by Adventure HQ Tanzania, that has given me more than I ever expected.

Trip of a lifetime!!! - Mashaka and his crew are amazing! Such a great itinerary with lots of sights and fun had along the way. Mashaka made sure that everything ran smoothly and is a well organized leader. Mweni and Emanuel are some of the best safari drivers in Tanzania with amazing knowledge and a strong passion for the wildlife and landscape. Our accommodations and meals along the way were fantastic with a good focus on local and authentic experiences. I strongly recommend HQ adventures as your choice for your Tanzanian experience.

Unforgettable time in Tanzania - I had a great time. Our driver Walden knows where to find lions, elephants, giraffes and even a cheetah and leopard. He also made the safari unforgettable and he knows a lot to tell about Tanzanian wildlife. Whenever I had a question I could contact Mashaka and he helped. If you book camping, you should know it's simple but I enjoyed it and it was no problem to get a single tent as a solo traveler. A 74 years old guy in our group booked hotels instead of camp. So it's possible to get some more comfort, just ask and Mashaka will do his best to make you happy. It's amazing to see the stars in Serengeti camp in the night. The food is good and always more than enough. Thanks to Mashaka and Walden I had an unforgettable experience.

Long lasting experience of a breathtaking safari - The guide Peter was an excellent guide. He drove really safely and you felt comfortable with him. He had a big knowledge about the animals and also of Tanzanian cultures. If you have any questions you could always ask him. The tour itself was amazing. Every park has its own specialty and perks. All of them are breathtaking - landscape wise or animal wise. I was able to encounter way more animals than I thought I would. The camping is fun especially when you hear the sounds of lions at night. Last but not least the food is absolutely delicious. All in all, the money is so worth it!

Unforgettable Safari experience - Unforgettable Safari experience! Before the Safari Mashaka and team drove all the way over to a cafe close to my place to explain the tour and how to prepare for it. The day after I left for the tour already and was blessed with a cool group that I did not know before. The entire group including driver and cook were amazing people, who could guide professionally with a lot of knowledge and cook great local food. They also considered that I eat vegan. I would choose to go with adventure HQ over and over again. ASANTE 🙏🏻

Great - We had 4 wonderful days on our Safari. Mashaka's briefing was very helpful and Stanley was a great guide. The way he could spot the animals was very impressive and he basically knew all the answers to the questions we had about the animals. Our chef Ibrahim also was wonderful and managed to cook a great meal for us every time. I also liked the route we took, because due to the stops at different parks it didn't feel like the drives were too long.
