Highlights

Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park - After breakfast, your safari guide will collect you from your accommodation and drive you to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.
On your exploration of the park you will see monkeys, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs.
After a full day in the Park, you will drive to Karatu Safari Camp Lodge where you will be able to relax and enjoy dinner.

Manyara to Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - We will depart for the Serengeti National park once you have finished your appetizing breakfast. If you are lucky you may encounter the odd animal on the route because we pass via the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Tanzania’s oldest and most frequented national park, which is also a world heritage site and recently branded as one of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Serengeti is renowned for the annual migration of the herds and ever-growing wildlife population. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on one of the kopjes (rock outcropping). Our game drive will venture further into the park. After the game drive, you will drive to Robin Safari Camp Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti National Park - We will begin our day with an early morning game drive in the central Serengeti. The savannah is an active landscape and the air is flooded with the melodies the birds create as the regenerated sunlight starts to illuminate the full landscape. Your guide will study the prints on the ground to pursue predators. We will travel to the Simba campsite, located near the rim of the crater. You will be provided with dinner and satisfactory Lodge facilities.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - A scarce amount of safari destinations produce the same experience as the Ngorongoro Crater – the game viewing is simply effortless. Most animals remain within the crater due to its high walls. This is the perfect location to view every member of ‘The Big 5’ in one day. We will have a wonderful picnic lunch inside the crater. The unfilled caldera is also home to hyenas, hippo, zebra, wildebeest, and an impressive variety of water birds. Your guide will enlighten you by sharing facts about the animals, and vegetation, and locating hidden animals. Then later drive to Karatu Safari Camp Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, you will make the short drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle you will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna and Tarangire River in search of many animals including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and giraffe. It’s possible that you will catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or leopards watching and relaxing in the trees above. After lunch in the park, you will drive to Arusha where your safari ends.

An Absolutely Magnificent Experience - difficult to put into words!! - Our family of four went on Safari with Colours Africa for a 7 day/6 night tour (which they adapted for our requirements) at the start of June 2024. To say it was one of the best times of our lives is an understatement. From the very first email communications with Godlisten and Hamis at their Arusha based office in January 2024 to the very last minute of our trip in June they demonstrated their expertise at the business of providing an exceptional safari experience. Godlisten arranged for Eddie to pick us up from Kilimanjaro (JRO) airport and he brought us firstly to the Colours Africa office for a pre safari briefing, then to our hotel where we prepared for our safari which started the next day. This was such a bonus as it meant we had no worries about getting from JRO airport to Arusha. Eddie introduced us to our first Swahili words which turned out to be very helpful!! At daybreak on the first day of the safari, our guide Patience picked us up at our hotel and a little later we picked up our chef, Suliman and two more clients (adventurers) to complete our party of six. We already had high hopes having read such good reviews of Colours Africa but the friendship we built with these two wonderful men and our 2 fellow adventurers was an absolute highlight. Patience told us everything we needed to know about the animals and areas we were discovering and he always seemed to know exactly where we would have the best chances of us seeing the wildlife. Suliman cooked some of the most delicious local style breakfasts, lunches and dinners you will ever taste. We always had bottles of water, coke, wine or beer avalable when and if we wanted them. Each morning Patience had the jeep clean and stocked with everything we needed for another day's exploring. We spent two nights camping in the Serengeti with three days watching the amazing wildlife, a night camping on the Ngorongoro Crater and a day in the crater itself, then from hotel bases a day in Tarangire National Park and a day in Arusha National Park. We had some wonderful close encounters with the big five with some amazing close views of a variety of packs/prides of lions. We had such a good time with Patience and Suliman that is was sad to say good bye to both of them but for the 7th day of our odyssey we had a new guide Allen. Another very nice character and true gentleman. During the morning Allen took us to see the Materuni Falls at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro giving us all sorts of information from how the Banana tree grows to stories about the local folk and the mountain (which is fully within Tanzania!). Following a delicious lunch made by the locals in Materuni Village we spent a very entertaining afternoon learning everything about growing, roasting, grinding and making coffee with Justin and some of the villagers before Allen dropped us to our hotel in Moshi and an amazing week came to an end. During the week when we had arrived back at our hotel base in Arusha following the first four days of our trip we had a surprise visit from Hamis just to check how everything was going. We thought this was a very nice gesture and reinforced the professionalism of their operation. All in all a truly unforgettable experience!! Many many thanks to Godlisten, Hamis, Patience, Suliman, Allen, Justin and Eddie for providing so many wonderful and unforgettable memories.

Perfectly organized Mind blowing Safari! Saw BIG 5! - What an AMAZING safari experience! Well organized, professionally managed and stress free tour with all big 5! BEST Tour Organizer : We had brief discussion about my tour day before my safari which helped me trust him more. He was very quick responder so I had all my questions answered when I was in the US. BEST Safari Driver/Guide: Livin Macha is very expert in wild life. He drove extra miles to show us all the animals with a right angel. We saw all big 5! BEST Service : Food, camps, lodges and crew - everything was perfect! I had best time in camp site sleeping with lions roaring sound. Lodging was clean, with hot water shower and towels. Staff was kind, considerate towards our request. We had extra sleeping bags and mattresses - I used them because it got cold in campsite. Water was supplied. BIG 5 : saw all big 5, even Rhino! Chita hunting dear, loins hunting dears, failed hunting act by crocodile but chase was very good etc. Colours Africa managed our group very well, we became family and last day was very emotional with our guide. Watching wild animals from so close was the best life experience I could have. Extra Service: Godlisten was very flexible in adjusting my itinerary. He provided me car pick-up and drop off for my adhoc request. STRONGLY recommended Safari tour. In Tanzania, you need perfectly organized tour to have best experience.

An experience we won't forget soon! - We couldn't have hoped for better. The organization was perfect from start to finish. Everything was thought out so that we could make the most of the experience. Our guide Norton was excellent. He always did a lot to make sure we could enjoy all the wonders the region had to offer. His driving was impeccable and safe, even on treacherous roads and in the morning fog of Ngorongoro. Our chef Pasco is a top cook as well as being a wonderful person. Always taking care of us. His breakfasts were essential to get through the long days. And what a pleasure it was to be able to enjoy his delicious meals after a long day. A unforgettable experience thanks to the unbelievable staff !

Out of this world experience made better by an amazing team - My girlfriend and I have always dreamed of doing a safari. There are hundreds of tour companies out there that offer various and similar tours and it is very difficult to determine which offer the best service. Right from the start when I sent my initial enquiry the Colours Africa team were responsive giving me a very customised itinerary. I told the team what I wanted out of the trip they gave a base plan which was modified as time went on. I noticed that they were not the cheapest and not the most expensive ion comparison to my other enquiries but I assure you they are definitely worth paying for. Unfortunately our luggage was lost by the airline so we arrived in Arusha with no luggage. Colours Africa went to every effort to help us locate it and even offered to have the luggage delivered 2 hours to us in the national park if it turned up. Unfortunately it did not arrive in Arusha until the last day. We were placed in the hands of Benjamin, our guide and driver for the 5 days and our chef Solomon. Right from the word go Benjamin was very in tune with exactly what we were looking for on the safari. He knew all of the National Parks like the back of his hand and constantly ensured that we were looked after. He made every effort to stay away from the hoards of jeeps whilst still always making sure we saw every animal. We even set him missions (jokingly) to see specific animals which he always completed. He even completed the mission to find us a lion hunt. I would say that Benjamin went out of his way to ensure that we were comfortable and felt looked after and despite the incredibly long hours he worked he always smiled and wanted to joked with us. To finish he even took us to the airport to collect our long lost baggage. Solomon was the joker of the group. He is a very funny guy and a talented chef. I still miss his early morning pancakes. We were especially keen to try local Tanzanian food which he cooked perfectly but always provided western alternatives. Me being greedy would always eat both. Solomon would always ensure that we were comfortable and well fed. The safari itself was one of the most incredible things I've experienced. I saw everything that I wanted to see and am thrilled to have spent time in the Serengeti. The facilities are far cleaner than I expected. Having travelled a lot in many countries around the world I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the facilities. The jeep was very comfortable and I was blown away by the sheer number of animals, especially Lions. My tip would be to make sure that you spend 2 nights at least in the Serengeti. It's so vast that you will only scratch the surface by staying a single night. If you can handle roughing it make sure you camp as it offers an extra experience to sleep under the clear Serengeti stars and listen to the wild animals during the night I would 100% say that Benjamin and Solomon made an incredible experience into something extra special and I'm pleased to call them both my friends after this. If you do choose to do this tour with Colours Africa make sure you request Benjamin and Solomon and make sure you give them a nice tip at the end as they both deserve it. Thank you to the whole Colours Africa team Roshan and Laura

Wonderful experience, would recommend! - Colours Africa provided an amazing experience for us. They would always reply quickly to any queries and tried their best to accommodate any special wishes where possible. They were very helpful outside of the tour booked with them as well. The tour itself was well balanced, our guide super friendly and knowledgeable. The cook who came with us was incredibly good and let us experience Tanzanian cuisine at its tastiest! The only very small downside: we could actually not take out big backpacks on the tour but had to leave them behind at the hotel and could only take a small backpack each for a trip of six days. I would have preferred to know about that beforehand. But all in all a great company that I definitely recommend!

5 Day Tarangire,Serengeti,Ngorongoro & Manyara Camping Safari Tour Tanzania. - I booked a relatively last minute safari with Colours (4 weeks out) and changed dates a couple of times. I booked as a single and they worked me into a group which made 6 total. They accommodated every change I made without question. Godlisten met me at my hotel the day prior to departure and went over all the details for my upcoming adventure, also explaining why a hotel was changed (due to feedback!) The new hotel was great, comfortable and secure, not 5 star but what do you expect on a safari? Camping accommodations were as expected, but camping with a dining hall was great! Our guide, Noton, is very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. He has been in the business for many years and has a deep knowledge of all the flora and fauna and had answers for every question asked without fail. Saw all the big 5…. But no guarantees. Our chef, Sula, prepared lovely local dishes that everyone enjoyed and was able to accommodate requests as needed. My safari experience was amazing, I would 100% recommend Colours without any reservation. Great job!! I would recommend their service to anyone!
