Highlights

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, set off for Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a full day of game drives in the park, which boasts a diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones. The park is dotted with ancient Baobab trees, the largest in Africa, which tower over the animals that graze beneath them. The Tarangire River winds through the park, attracting a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and numerous colorful birds. Tarangire is renowned for having the largest elephant population in Tanzania, offering ample opportunities to quietly observe elephant families interacting. After a picnic lunch at an observatory within the park, where you can watch animals drinking from the river (and sometimes witness lions hunting zebras or wildebeests), continue your game viewing before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

TRANSIT NGORONGORO INTO CENTRAL SERENGETI

Serengeti National Park - Today’s journey takes you past Lake Manyara and into the fertile Ngorongoro highlands. As you cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you’ll arrive at the expansive plains of the Serengeti National Park by early afternoon. The next few days are dedicated to exploring the renowned Serengeti, home to the Big Five – elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and rhino – along with many other species. Each day on safari promises new wildlife sightings. You’ll spend the night at the Baobab Serengeti Tented Camp or a similar accommodation.

FULL DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, continue your safari in the Serengeti National Park. In the Seronera Valley, you might witness predators hunting as animals gather at water sources during the dry season or follow the migration from Central to North Serengeti. Lunch will be at a picnic spot within the park. Continue with game drives until late afternoon, then return to your lodge at the BAOBAB Serengeti Camp for rest, a shower, dinner, and an overnight stay.

TRACKING THE SERENGETI MIGRATION

Serengeti National Park - Spend two full days immersed in the Serengeti. With your guide, you’ll scout for animals in this pristine area, taking your time to observe the park’s wildlife and learn about their behaviors and social structures. The Serengeti National Park, the third largest in Tanzania, is breathtakingly beautiful. The southern landscape is characterized by vast open grasslands, while the north and west feature open woodlands and hills. Along with the Masai Mara, the Serengeti hosts the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras, one of the most spectacular natural events on Earth. Your accommodation will be at the Baobab Serengeti Camp or a similar camp. To maximize your chances of witnessing the Great Migration, your route and camp order will be chosen based on your travel time.

SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO

Serengeti National Park - Witnessing the sunrise in the African Savannah is an unforgettable experience. After a morning game drive, return to the camp for brunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Ngorongoro, often referred to as the 8th natural wonder of the world. The crater, with walls 2,000 feet high and a floor spanning 102 square miles, is like a modern-day Noah’s Ark, home to nearly every species of wildlife native to East Africa, including the rare black rhino. The crater boasts the highest concentration of wildlife on the planet and features a river, several swamps, a soda lake that appears to steam from above and is filled with flamingos, a forest, and open plains. The large bull elephants here have enormous tusks due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and grasses, making them some of the most impressive elephants you’ll ever see.

NGORONGORO CRATER

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Early in the morning, descend to the crater floor for a day of wildlife viewing in one of the most extraordinary places on Earth. After a picnic lunch near the hippo lake and more wildlife viewing in the afternoon, drive up the steep road out of the crater and return to Moshi or Arusha.

What more you need from a local tour operator! - My wife and I had a fantastic 8-day private safari in Tanzania with Pinnacle Tanzania in July 2024. We worked with N Gloria in their office to plan a custom safari that included Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Central Serengeti National Park and the Northern Serengeti. She was helpful, patient and very responsive. Our guide on the safari was Mzee Chuwaa, and he was fantastic. He seemed always to know the best routes and the best places to see wildlife, and did his best to accommodate our interests. He was a veritable font of knowledge about wildlife, trees and plants. We saw everything we hoped for and much more -- the so-called big five, the great migration, and wildebeest river crossings, plus large numbers of giraffes, gazelle, zebras and many other animals, and uncountable numbers and species of birds. The tour vehicle was in great condition and comfortable. Pinnacle provided delicious hot lunches daily. The accommodations (hotels on the first and last night, and tented camps the other nights) were delightful. On a whim, we let them know the trip was a celebration of our 20th anniversary. To our surprise, they honored us nearly every night. The entire Pinnacle team led by Frazier provided a well-coordinated and wonderful safari that exceeded our (admittedly high) expectations, at a competitive price.

Thank you Pinnacle Safaris in Tansania - Pinnacle started off on a great note. We initially emailed them about a different tour, but they advised us that a migration route may be good to go to as our timing was good for it. We appreciated the offer as we didn't really know much about it, and we are so glad we did! We had the most amazing time with our guide Thomas! It was a rocky start - the airport took hours to process everyone's pre-purchased eVisas, so poor Frazier had to wait 2 hours for us. He was still incredibly friendly despite all the trouble, and brought us to Arusha so that we can be briefed with our itinerary. Rosemary who was our email contact, was there and helped us out with understanding the next few days. They laid out meals for us despite our lateness and we were not rushed at all. We frequently apologized for all the trouble, so Frazier's mantra for the week with us was "hakuna matata". Thank you so much for everything.

Unmatched professionalism and customer service - Went on two safaris in Tanzania with Pinnacle and they couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment I first contacted Frazier he was able to accommodate all my needs and several unforeseen date changes! The guides are top notch and extremely professional and the accommodations are some of the best in Africa. The safari vehicles are state of the art and every morning when you get in the dust is gone and you feel like you’re in a brand new truck. The level of customer service is unmatched!!!

A Holiday to Remember! - We were wonderfully accompanied from the arrival to the departure by the staff. The reception at the airport, the transfer to the Hotel, the first day safari in the Arusha National Park by Julius: all perfect. Then we spent eight exciting, fun and interesting days with our German speaking guide Gabbo on safari: Tarangire NP, Serengeti NP, Ngorogoro Crater and Lake Manyara NP. Gabbo accompanied us profoundly with his extensive knowledge of land, people and animals through this entertaining holiday. It was a caring and informal atmosphere but always with the adventure on mind. A warm "thank you" Pinnacle Team.

Our Big Five Safari Experience with Pinnacle - I can't say enough good things about Pinnacle Adventures! We had a fantastic guide named Goodluck. He was very knowledgeable about all the animals, trees, etc. He also knew where to find the animals. He took very good care of our family for 6 days. He even had to call the lab to make sure we had our PCR tests back on time. If we ever make it back Tanzania we will definitely book with Pinnacle Adventures! Also, a special "shout out" to Issa our driver who took us to the airport. He waited in the parking lot for us for about 2 hours to make sure we boarded our plane back to Qatar. ( We were having some issues with our PCR tests, I told him that he could go but he still waited to make sure everything was OK)... We really appreciated that. Thank You, The Liam Family
