Best trustworthy Safari company - The contact with David and his brother Ernest was very easy and friendly. We trusted them immediately. David set out a very nice route for us and included all of the accomodation of our wishes. Unfortunately due to Covid we had to postpone our (honeymoon!!!) trip, but David was being a helping hand and made changing our whole trip possible. It was very nice to have such a good safari provider. In the week before we left, David emailed us that he could upgrade our lodges due to the changed prices in Covid times, very nice that he did this. We got a lot of suprises during our honeymoon at the different accomodations, it was very special! Our drive Jackson was very good, he drove safely and exactly knew where to go to show us the big-5 (we only missed the rhino, but difficult to see in this season). The lodges were fantastic, but mostly the Sound of Silence really stood out. We really enjoyed our trip with Jackson. We would like to thank Kili Slope tour for our amazing honeymoon!

SAFARI TRIP ARRANGED WITH KILI SLOPE, TANZANIA - Reliable, friendly and economical services provided by KILI SLOPE. David Maro of KILI SLOPE was always available on phone to meet our special requirements. The Drivers provided for Safari were also good, going extra steps for us to view the best possible sights of animals. The Lodges and Camps used by us as per recommendation by David Maro were of good quality, (except the MAWE Camp which was a bit inconvenient). Overall It was a great experience for our group ( of 17 persons) and we thank DAVID MARO - KILI SLOPE to make our this safari trip (which was the 1st and may be the last Safari Trip for some) a memorable trip.

Fantastic driver/guides, incredible trip - I had an absolutely amazing trip, where I saw lots of animals, incredible sunsets/landscapes, and met great people. What made the trip even more amazing was my driver Salim/Simon. He was full of jokes, always happy, and incredible at finding animals. He adopted the itinerary to my taste and even offered hilarious extra's such as a local experience of eating ugali at a roadside cafe :') Spending 7 days with someone non-stop is a large commitment and Salim made it easy and fun; I would highly recommend any trip with Salim. I also had a chance to spend a day with Ziggy, who is great as well. Only caveat for safaris in general: you should be very specific with your lodge/camp selection. Make sure to check the accommodation websites and to make sure you like the suggested properties, if not, ask for alternative suggestions that match your expectations. When you spend so much money on a trip, you want to make sure you are happy with all aspects of the trip :)

Trip of a lifetime! - As a solo traveller, I contacted three safari companies 10 days (!) prior to my flight to Tanzania to enquire about a 7-day mid-range safari (through Tarangire, Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro) on my preferred dates. All three companies replied within a day but I liked Kili Slope's offer the most, because David Maro, the managing director provided me with an authentic 7-day itinerary which I liked a lot. I felt relieved that everything was planned out for me by an expert so I did not have to worry about anything. When I arrived to Arusha, one of David's representatives picked me up at the airport and transferred me to the Charity Hotel. On the first day, I visited Arusha National Park with Jackson who was my driver and guide of that day. Jackson kindly showed me giraffes, zebras, buffalos, flamingos, monkeys, and we were lucky enough to see Mount Kilimanjaro from a viewpoint. Jackson was very patient while I took photos. I also had a 1-hour walking safari with an armed ranger that day; - I loved the idea of walking a few meters away from the giraffes at the foothills of Mount Meru! An amazing experience. Then the real adventure started with Simon Juma Salim who was my/our guide/driver for the rest of the week. On day 2-6, I was supposed to join a group of five but thanks to David, I shared the safari jeep with only one other solo traveller. The three of us, we spent 1 day in Tarangire National Park, 2 days in the Serengeti, and one day in Ngorongoro. On my 7th day I visited Lake Manyara alone with our guide, Simon. Simon Juma Salim, our guide was brilliant!!! At first the three of us made a decision together what to focus on during the safari, i.e., the great migration or the big cats. Both of us were mainly interested in the big cats, so Simon ensured that we definitely see lions, cheetahs and leopards by driving through their habitat in the Serengeti. Actually, I saw 31 lions, several cheetahs with babies, and a leopard with her baby! Thanks to Simon, I could also meet the Big Five and many many other beautiful animals. I was lucky enough to witness a male lion (and later vultures) eating a buffalo at Lake Manyara, and I could also see a tree climbing lion. Simon himself got very excited when we spotted an animal on the savannah, and Simon even helped me taking photos through binoculars! Simon is very passionate about his job, and he considers Serengeti as his second home. Of course, Simon always shared some interesting facts about the animals and vegetation as well as the different tribes. Simon also shared some stories of his life during lunch and dinner. Simon is very friendly, kind-hearted and helpful; and his genuine personality contributed that I enjoyed this trip so much. In relation to the accommodation selected by David, I loved the Serengeti Wildlife Camp (because I could hear hyenas, and lions roaring at night...) and the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge (because of the beautiful views) the most. David via Simon our guide continuously asked for feedback about the accommodation (if I had not been happy with it David would have changed it). I highly recommend Kili Slope.

A reliable choice for a safari - There are hundreds of companies in Arusha offering safaris at similar prices. Safaris are expensive and you want the best chance of seeing wildlife. I recommend Kili Slope Tours for their knowledge of where animals are concentrated as they move around the parks during the year. They adjusted our itinerary when we arrived because most animals had moved from one park to another. The Tanzanian owner, David Maro, was very prompt and helpful in our email correspondence. We had no problems transferring money from the UK to pay. David also met us at the start and the end of our safari. You also need a driver/guide who is experienced at observing wildlife. We had Ziggy who has amazingly sharp eyes, and was expert at predicting where llions would move when hunting. Thanks to him we had several unforgettable close encounters. He also knows a lot about the animals. What you see is very dependent on how much time you have. So it is well worth staying in the parks rather than outside. The tented lodges in the Serengeti are very comfortable and the staff very friendly. It is also worth paying the extra to include a drive through the Ngorongoro crater, if the animals are there. We saw thousands of animals (zebras, wildebeest and Thompson’s gazelles), plus elephants, hippos, and through binoculars, two rhinos.

Disappointing Experience - This review has nothing to do with the animal sightings and observation. PROS: - Chef (Dennis) was friendly and provided delicious, plentiful meals. - Guide/Driver (Simba) was very knowledgable about animals and parks. - Guide/Driver (Charles) was excellent as a guide with knowledge and as a driver. - Charles' vehicle was in better condition that Simba's vehicle. CONS: - Vehicle was not in the best state of repair. The 5 guests had to push start it twice when it wouldn't start. Luckily, it wasn't in an area where dangerous animals were. Also, we had two flat tires, the windows were hard to open/close and when they did they made a terribly loud screeching noise. The refrigerator also did not cool drinks. - We did not stay in the places where the itinerary noted we would. The camp in Serengeti was an absolute dump, especially compared to the camp in Ngorongoro. We also didn't follow the itinerary as it was laid out. - We left on our first morning, but stopped less than 30 minutes into our drive when it was discovered we needed tents. We lost 60-90 minutes while they were brought to us at a roadside art stall. - Subsequently, our driver drove fast and recklessly. A couple of guests asked him to slow it down a bit. He didn't seem to like that. He drove fast several times, and the guests were not comfortable with that. - Simba would come up quickly on animals sometimes, instead of slowly, and that would spook the animals. It was frustrating. Guests spent a lot of time looking at each other over Simba's behavior and words. - We would agree on times to wake up and start the day, and then the next day we would leave later than agreed. Simba would say something the night before, and then the next morning say he didn't say what he had said the previous evening. We were always late getting out of camp. - Information wasn't readily presented to the group as to what the plan was day-by-day. Guests were always asking each other if they knew what time was a meal, a departure, the schedule, etc. - All 5 guests complained about their experience to varying degrees. Three of the five were really disappointed by the experience, while the other two were disappointed in a few details. - We witnessed our baggage being shoved, punched, and jammed into the vehicle, and we had little to no room to move around as bags and equipment were in the back between and on seats. - Our stuff was on the vehicle when they were packing it, and a piece of my photo equipment was missing when we departed. I noticed it missing and asked Simba if it had been taken off the vehicle when they packed it. He said no. I found it all the way in the back when the vehicle was unpacked again at next destination. There was no concern shown or offer to help look for it by staff. - We did not feel safe many times during the driving, and did not feel comfortable many times, as well. This all negatively impacted the animal viewing experience.
