• Lake Manyara National Park - Depart from Arusha town at 8:00am and head to Lake Manyara National Park. After completing the registration at the park gate, you will enter the park. Lake Manyara, a shallow freshwater lake in Tanzania, is often described as the “loveliest lake in Africa.” The lake spans 127 square miles (329 km²) within Lake Manyara National Park, with its alkaline waters covering about 89 square miles (231 km²). The park is renowned for its large population of baboons and diverse birdlife, and it is also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs, and giraffes. The groundwater forest features giant fig trees and mahogany. In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Arusha.

Spanning 330 square kilometers or 127 square miles, Lake Manyara National Park dedicates as much as 200 square kilometers (77 square miles) to Lake Manyara itself when the waters are at their peak. This park is situated in northern Tanzania. The park’s gateway can be found just 1.5 hours (126 kilometers/ 80 miles) to the west of Arusha, accessible by a recently upgraded road near the culturally rich trading center of Mto wa Mbu.
