Amazing water Fall - Materuni village feels like a resort with lush green vegetation and small traditionally made villas. The waterfalls are a short hike down from the village. It is high and actually one of the highest and beautiful in Tanzania. The water was warm that day. You can bring your swim suit when you want to be in this place and enjoy it better. After swimming we went to a small farm belonging to a local family. This was another colorful part of the trip. The guide was helpful to ensure we understand the whole process of brewing coffee. The farm owner was at this stage our teacher. We got to see and participate with music and drums. Coffee was made with incredible process from been green beans to been roasted coffee all in traditional local capacity with almost zero technology used.

We had a great time at Materuni water falls. - The water falls was very fresh and cold. We surrounded by the forest and greenish everywhere it gave us the sense of been in the jungles of Africa. Everyone we came with was happy to enjoy coffee that was made from local farm. It was the end of dry season when we were there swimming was hard due to water temperature but, the general experience was amazing giving us the best experience in Africa.

This is a great way to spend time in Moshi after Kilimanjaro hike. - I wanted to explore Moshi and this was a very great way to do it. I was able to see the Kilimanjaro. Our local guide from Burigi Chato Safaris recommended we do this activity after the hike from Kilimanjaro. I visited the water falls as the managing director organized the whole visit. I was with a very detailed guide who knew a lot about the village and the people there. This village is in a beautiful spot on the hill at the slopes of Kilimanjaro.

Great experience - The guide met us at our hotel. We drove to the starting point by the office vehicle. Our transport was offered by the company at 40 usd which was worth it provided the distance. At the water falls we stopped to take photos. Then we ate a little bit of snack and food! After meals and a little bit of survey around the water falls we went to the coffee farm that belonged to a local villager. We were shown the process of making coffee from the tree to the cup. It fun and interesting because of the songs and dances that were presented by the hosting family.

Our Guide talked well and had all the details - We are lucky to have the excursion in the region during the day that we had nothing to do and decided to go out. The water falls has a path you need to go through to get there. This path is in a village sharing the same name with the water falls. Tanzania is a very friendly country that have friendly people. When going to Materuni falls you pass through a village with many children and local houses. Everyone was happy to see us and came out to give us greetings. Our guide was kind and friendly. He invited us to go to the family where we had coffee and delicious lunch.

Amazing day - Our time in Kilimanjaro was very joyful with our guide Martin who taught us how to pick off coffee from the tree and make a cup of coffee. Martin organized a very individual tour matching our interests and schedule. It was nice of him to make sure we were well taken care of and had the best experience on this day.

Materuni water fall and village - Our guide was giving us a lot of details. He was very friendly to us and could listen to all our questions and concerns. This day was a great one as we met many people from the village who taught us how to make coffee and swimming was nice at the pool of the falls. This water fall is tall and said to be among the tallest in the country. With all people we met in the village we learnt a lot and enjoyed as they were nice to us

Unique waterfall - With a group of five people we did a hike to the water falls. On our path we were met with kids and villagers who call this piece of heaven their home. The landscape is beautiful and the view of Kilimanjaro from here is better. Our guide knew a lot about the place as he was one of the locals. We were taught the coffee production process and we prepared our own cups and this was an amazing thing for us to do in a day at Moshi.
