Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After an early breakfast, the journey to Tarangire National Park begins. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ serves as the sole water source for wildlife in the area during the dry season. The park features dense vegetation in some areas, including elephant grass and acacia woodlands. Tarangire is renowned for its elephant herds, often seen gathering by the river. Visitors may also encounter giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, which are often followed by predators such as lions and leopards. Tarangire National Park boasts more breeding bird species than any other place on Earth. It is home to Tanzania’s largest elephant population, making it the ideal location to observe these majestic creatures in their natural environment, from the charming calves to the formidable bulls. After enjoying a packed lunch, guests proceed to Kizumba Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Following an early breakfast, the trip to Ngorongoro Crater commences. The first sight of Ngorongoro Crater resembles a forgotten world. Visitors have the chance to see the endangered black rhino and large lion prides. The crater was formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. It is renowned for its geological wonders and as a natural reserve with some of the densest large mammal populations in Africa. The descent into the crater is an adventure, and upon reaching the crater floor, visitors find themselves amidst large herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. The crater offers the best opportunity to spot the endangered black rhino, occasionally seen in the open grasslands.

Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha

Lake Manyara National Park - An early breakfast is served at the lodge before a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This relatively small but diverse park, located 120 km west of Arusha, is named after the shallow salt lake that covers about seventy percent of the park’s area. The soda lake, which floods and dries seasonally, is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. During the park exploration, visitors may see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, with some luck, lions resting in trees. The park is noted for its varied landscapes, including open grassy plains, primate-filled woodlands, and baobab-dotted cliffs. After a packed lunch, the journey back to Arusha begins, concluding the adventure in time for a flight home or to Zanzibar.
