ARUSHA TO NGORONGORO CRATER FOR GAME DRIVES
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Early in the morning, after breakfast, guests will depart from the lodge with packed lunches for an exciting day ahead. The expert safari guide will lead them into the Ngorongoro Crater for a fantastic game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater, known as the 8th wonder of the Natural World, spans over 102 square miles and features 2,000-foot-high walls, resembling a Noah’s Ark. It is home to nearly every species of wildlife native to East Africa, including the rare and endangered black rhinos. Other animals that may be spotted during the game drive include elands, lions, waterbucks, wildebeests, hyenas, jackals, African elephants, buffaloes, elusive leopards, cheetahs, hippos, and many more, along with hundreds of bird species such as the Maasai ostrich, kori bustard, ibis, and starlings. Lunchboxes will be served at the picnic point inside the crater. Later, guests will ascend the crater walls and drive to their hotel, lodge, or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
NGORONGORO CONSERVATION TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Serengeti National Park - After a delightful breakfast, guests will leave the lodge or camp with packed lunches and drive to Serengeti National Park via the Ndutu Plains. Animals such as giraffes, elephants, wildebeests, gazelles, zebras, lions, buffaloes, and cheetahs may be spotted on this day. There is also an option to visit the Oldupai Gorge site for a museum tour. This archaeological museum preserves the remains and signs of the first humans discovered by Dr. Leakey and Mary Leakey. More information will be available at the museum. Upon crossing the border, picnic lunches will be served, followed by game drives en route to the hotel, lodge, or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
