Excellent tour with excellent guide! - We couldn’t have asked for a better tour of Dartmoor. Nigel was excellent at communicating before the tour and asked about our interests and mobility so he could create the perfect tour for us. He was prompt and kept us on good time. Dartmoor is incredibly beautiful and the history fascinating; Nigel clearly knows and loves the area well. He was everything you want in a tour guide - knowledgeable, funny, agreeable, and knows all the best spots for photos. My sister and I had a great time and are already talking about making another trip and going on another one of his tours. This has been the highlight of our trip!

WoW...what a tour! - Although we live only 30 mins drive away from Dartmoor, we knew very little about it. But after a day with Nigel, it's opened our eyes to this wonderful, natural parkland on our doorstep. His communication prior to the tour was first class. We started the tour with the best coffee on Dartmoor, followed by a walk around Ashburton, visiting one of the oldest pubs in the UK and the headstone of the man who inspired the title of Conan Doyle's best known novel. Lunch at Warren House, one of highest and remotest pubs in England was such a pleasant surprise - log fires (which have been burning for over 200 years) and home cooked food in this cosy pub was wonderful. En route, Nigel would stop the car and take us to places that we never knew existed. The stone circles dating back thousands of years were breath-taking. I would encourage anyone who visits Devon to book a tour with Nigel - the memories we have taken away are priceless!

Charming Mysterious Dartmoor - My wife and I loved this tour. Dartmoor was fascinating. Charming scenery. Learned a lot of history - from Walter Raleigh's arrest at an inn in Ashburton to background on Arthur Conan Doyle and The Hound of Baskervilles. I learned about stone bridge construction from the Neolithic to the 17th century. The Grimspound Bronze Age settlement was mysterious. Nice lunch at an isolated pub out on the windswept moor. Nigel is informative, gracious and good company.

A Great Day in Dartmoor National Park - Our tour of Dartmoor National Park with Nigel was outstanding. He picked us up at our hotel in Exeter in his very comfortable van and we were immediately impressed with his enthusiasm for the day's activities, his warm personality, and his professionalism. We had expressed an interest in learning as much as we could about the history of the area as well as seeing its varied landscape. Nigel planned a day that exceeded all of those expectations. He is extremely knowledgeable and knows the sites of the park so well. He also knows how to have fun. We spontaneously trekked through fields to find the majestic highland cows that he wanted to show us and we shared in his enthusiasm over an uncommon sighting of gray ponies. For an information-filled, scenic, and enjoyable experience, we highly recommend a tour with Nigel.

Great driving and walking trip on the moors! - Excellent day trip on the moors. Nigel planned an itinerary, which we were able to tweak slightly to rekindle past memories. He is extremely knowledgeable and had visible representations to show the ‘then and now’. We only had one day and got a great flavor of the moors. Please use Nigel for your future visits. We will!

Springtime in Dartmoor - What a lovely day touring Dartmoor National Park with Nigel! My husband and I were picked up at our hotel in Exeter promptly at 8:30 for a drive to Ashburton and the start of our tour of Devon. Nigel covered all the high points: clapper bridges, Bronze Age roundhouses, Cornish ponies and sheep, the history of Dartmoor Prison and church with its significance to the US, Hound Tor and Haytor, and a lovely lunch at the very isolated Warren Inn. We were amazed at his skill navigating the extremely narrow hedgerow-lined roads and so appreciated the excellent photos he took of us. By the time we returned at 4:30, we had experienced a beautiful day in Dartmoor. We highly recommend Nigel as your guide.
