The Asheville Music History Walking Tour investigates the heart of Asheville by recounting tales of bands, musical artists, revolutions in sound, and dynamic cultural influences. This leisurely 1.5-mile, 2-hour walk will delve into Asheville’s diverse musical legacy, beginning from Scots-Irish and Appalachian influences down to the present-day fusion of rock, blues, electronic music, hip-hop, and experimental genres.

Navigating through various downtown locales, including Lexington Avenue and The Block - hailed as Asheville’s historic African-American commercial district, the tour includes visits to the Moogseum, Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center, the famous musical hotspot The Orange Peel, amongst other interesting places.
