Spring rhododendron photo tour. - If you’re in the Asheville area and looking for something interesting and fun to do I would recommend a half day photo tour with J. I went on the spring rhododendron photo shoot. J met us exactly where and when he said he would. Drove us up on the parkway where he is very knowledgeable of the area and where and when the rhododendron blooms are peak. He also has has a good knowledge of photography and can help you capture some great images to take home. When some photo tours cost $XXXX J is a very reasonable alternative. Well worth the money and a great guide.

One-on-one tour and instruction on shooting waterfalls. - J met me right on time and immediately asked me what I wanted most from my custom tour and lesson, and when I said 'waterfalls' we decided to skip looking for Elk and headed off on a fantastic tour of four waterfalls - the first one being an easy one to reach, close to the road. I think he was using it to test my skill level of hiking/climbing, which, at 82 years old, I don't blame him for checking. In the end, I think I passed that test, even beyond my own expectations, and the views and photo ops were well worth it. We ended up high in the mountains somewhere south of Asheville for sunset shots, and while we opted not to wait for the full moon to rise, we had lovely views of it on the drive back to Asheville. J was a wonderful teacher, easy to learn from and talk to, and I enjoyed our conversations on the drive to and from the various sites.

Knows all the great spots! - This is my 2nd trip with WNC Photo Tours. J knows all the good places, times of the year, and conditions to ensure you have a jaw-dropping experience. For this tour, we Went out to Roan Mountain pre-dawn to capture the sunrise over the weekend's snow. It was peaceful and beautiful, and I got some great images. Thanks, J, for this memorable opportunity!

Wonderful Experience in the Blue Ridge Mountains - Jay did an excellent job. We had nice conversations. He's a great photography teacher; he provided tips and tricks and new ideas for us to study. He's a safe driver, yet took us to great sites off of the beaten path. He answered every question, and sprinkled his answers with great jokes.

Great views with hands on experience - Excellent local photo tour. J picked us up from our hotel as arranged. He then drove us to 2 different waterfalls and gave hands on instruction. We then went on the blue ridge parkway to get sunset shots from multiple different lookouts. We will definitely book again. I highly recommend you touch base with him directly for the best experience. Thanks Kenny&Jenny

Great afternoon/evening out - We were picked up exactly on time. J told us about what he thought he would do and checked it out with us. We went to places we would have not known about and despite driving through a torrential downpour he assured us we would get some dry spots for photography. We stopped at two waterfalls and some viewpoints over the mountains. J was easy to talk to and we had some great conversation. It was a great afternoon and evening trip.

A must for about learning photography and about Asheville’s beautiful scenery! - J tailored the half-day trip in order to instruct me on enhancing my photo skills and to photo some of the most beautiful areas around Asheville. The waterfall off the beaten path, the rhododendrons off the Blue Ridge Parkway…all made for great content for photos…and some great memories. Looking forward to the next tour-we will return to Asheville and join J again! Highly recommend!!

Waterfall and Sunset Photos on the Blueridge Parkway - J drove us to a waterfall and some scenic viewpoints on the Blueridge Parkway to take photos. He had offered to let us cancel due to the weather conditions, but we chose to go ahead. Even with the fog blocking a lot of our view, the scenery was beautiful. He taught me two techniques for capturing waterfalls and sunsets. He personalized the lesson to my photography experience, and we enjoyed the tour.

A great photographic experience. - The weather did not cooperate to allow the planned itinerary but J more than compensated by taking us to some great sites for some great photographic opportunities. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. A lot of driving but turned a weather bust into a memorable experience.
