Additional Information

Asheville is known for Beer and Nature! We combine the two. This is a fun trip to bar hop by raft. We will casually float down river and take out 2 or 3 times to hit up some local bars and breweries. I will have a cooler with ice and you are welcome to bring your own beverages along.

This tour follows along the river and requires climbing up some muddy river banks and descending stairs.

We will relax and enjoy cold beverages and river views. We will stop at The Wedge Brewery at the Foundation and grab some food from the food truck. We will end at New Belgium Brewery.

I recommend parking at Hominy Creek River Park and then taking a ride share to retrieve your vehicle when you are safe to drive. You can leave your vehicle overnight there if you need to. We will meet you by the stairs to the river.

Other things to note:
Must be comfortable with water. Kids at least 15 can accompany their parents but obviously will not be able to consume alcohol. Gratuity for the guide is appreciated.

Location
220 Hominy Creek Rd
Hominy Creek Road
Walk through the parking lot towards the river and look for the Cedar Rock Adventures raft. Do not go through the gates into French Broad Outfitters. We are in the parking lot before the gates.

Great idea! Keep great company! - What made this trip amazing was the people we were in the boat with a week as our guide! She was very informative, and it felt like she was just one of the gang. Thanks to this trip, we found places we probably would not have seen without this trip. We went to the art district and had some great beer and BBQ. We placed our order on the boat, and the food was ready when we got there and didn't have to wait in the long line. It was a great trip that ended art New Belgium Brewery. Highly recommend it, but then again, it all depends on the company you are with! Make it fun!

Floating and partying. - My gang of 11 fraternity brothers had a great time. Cody was very knowledgeable and fun to be around. The stops were cool and spaced out just right.

Unique float and brew tour! - Two of us near retirement were part of a family of 5 with adult kids and friends. Had a blast! Cody was so helpful (esp. when the friend fell twice). Went to 3 breweries: Wrong Way, The Wedge and New Belgium. Would highly recommend for adults for a unique brew tour!

Best Activity in Asheville! - We did the floating bar crawl during my sister's bachelorette party weekend, and it was the highlight of our entire trip!! It's such a unique experience to travel to different bars on a raft, and Cody was such an awesome, kind, and fun guide. Highly recommend this tour for anyone - and don't worry, you won't get wet unless you want to - or if you happen to fall in the water haha!

Absolutely Fabulous, Would do again - 100% recommend this experience to anyone who wants to have fun, see the views, and discover local beer. We had so much fun exploring Asheville, bar hopping, and of course you can’t forget about the rafting! Walker was the absolute best guide and made the entire day so enjoyable!

Awesome experience! - We did this for my sister’s birthday and had such a fun time! We wanted to do something unique and this was definitely it. Walker was our guide and he made sure we had a great time. The only thing that got a little wet was some people’s shoes depending on where they sat in the raft. The food and drinks at the stops were really good and we would definitely do this again and highly recommend!

Awesome laid back floating brew crawl - We had a blast on this tour. We were lucky enough to share a raft with a great group and had a great guide. Info for fellow travelers: Tour consisted of 3 stops. One divey bar, one brewery with food truck (food was excellent! very meat-centric menu), and New Belgium Brewery. Our clothes did not get wet. Definitely recommend footwear that can get wet but, probably not flip flops. I wore flip flops though and was fine but, may not work for everyone. Reason for that is, a couple of the stops do have slightly muddy, steep-ish inclines to get out. Our guide was awesome and we had no issues but, I could see if you were not comfortable walking across a raft and then up a dirt incline, you may have issues. I am 6'5" 250 and in horrible shape and, wearing flip flops, I had no issues at all. Our group varied in age and size greatly and no one had any issues. Each stop is about a 5min walk to the actual brewery from the river. Floating down the river was great. We brought our own cooler with beer, which was not a problem. Raft held our group (4) and other group (6) plus guide and two coolers no problem. This is a very laid back experience overall and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Would go again!

Ehh - Our bar guide was fantastic. That’s about the only thing about it that was wonderful. We never stopped or really got into the water. When you think of a pub crawl, whether on water or on land, you do think you’re stopping at a couple different bars, one was at the end that we had to walk to, the other one was closed so the only one we did get to go it was a good experience but $78 for one out of three. And then we were told we were provided a cooler and the people that were with us ended up making a makeshift cooler just so that we could have something cold to drink on this float. Would not recommend
