- Asni - Embarking on a day trip from Marrakech to the Agafay Desert and the Kik Plateau offers an unforgettable adventure. Picture a stone desert, a serene lake, and the stunning Atlas Mountains alongside charming Berber villages, all in a single day. - Imlil - Depart from Marrakech early in the morning at 8:30 am, heading towards the High Atlas Mountains via Tahnaouet (local market on Tuesdays), Valley Ghighaya, and Moulay Brahim gorges, where a 30 to 40-minute camel ride awaits. Continue to Asni (market on Saturdays), then journey through terraced fields of vegetables, fruit trees, walnuts, and cherries, arriving at Imlil at 1740m. A local guide will welcome you with a glass of mint tea, followed by a walk through Berber villages (Ait Souka, Targa Imoula, Tagadirte) amidst fields of fruit trees, walnuts, cherries, apples, and vegetables. Pass by a waterfall before reaching Armed village for lunch with a Berber family, offering a view of Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa at 4167m. Visit one of the oldest villages in the Atlas Mountains.
- Plateau du Kik - An hour later, small patches of green will begin to appear, and soon you’ll be back on the tarmac road lined with old eucalyptus trees. Arrive at the edge of the Lalla Takerkoust lake, built as a dam that supplies Marrakech with electricity.
- Agafay Desert Luxury - Continue the journey and savor the tranquility of the desert and countryside with this day trip. The route is shaded by lush vegetation, olive and orange orchards, and passes through the occasional village of Ait Imour. From there, go off-road, driving through a completely different landscape of stone desert, barren light brown plateaux, Bedouin village, and oasis, then ascend high hills with panoramic views of the High Atlas from the Agafay Desert. Have your camera ready to capture amazing photos, and enjoy a cup of mint tea in a nomad tent before heading back to Marrakech, with drop-off at your hotel at approximately 6 pm.
