Our next stop is Itá, a colonial city established in 1539, famed as the “ceramics capital.” We then proceed to Yaguarón, home to the Baroque-style Franciscan Church of San Buenaventura, constructed between 1755 and 1772 by Guaraní natives under the guidance of Franciscan Order member Castro Carlos. Our journey continues to Sapucai, where we explore a remarkable railway industry museum and the notable English mansion that housed European engineers. Lastly, we visit Pirayu, making a brief stop at the train station, completed in 1864, which played a crucial role in troop and supply transport during the “Great War.” 6:00 p.m. Return to Asunción.
