A Journey Through Asunción’s Heart

As the sun rose over the vibrant city of Asunción, I found myself eagerly anticipating the day’s adventure. The promise of exploring Paraguay’s capital through a private excursion was too enticing to resist. As a biologist and environmental activist, I was particularly drawn to the idea of visiting the Bio-School and Hotel Cerrito, a model of sustainability and self-sufficiency. The thought of witnessing such an innovative approach to education and conservation was thrilling.

Our journey began with a warm welcome from our guide, who greeted us at the hotel. We embarked on a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, setting off on a scenic drive through the lush landscapes that surround Asunción. We also had the opportunity to visit the Tambo and engage with the Toba Qom community. Their stories, rich with cultural heritage and resilience, added depth to our understanding of the region. After our guided tour, we were given the freedom to explore Cerrito at our own pace. The two hours of free time allowed us to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty that enveloped the area.
