Sailing to Kom Ombo / Kom Ombo Temple / Optional Tour to Abu Simbel Temples
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - This optional tour comes at an additional cost. The two temples at Abu Simbel, known for their unique style, are masterpieces of ancient Egypt. The Temple of Ramesses II is dedicated to the four universal gods: Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and Ramesses II himself. Also known as the Sun Temple of Ramesses II, the Temple of Queen Nefertari is dedicated to Hathor, the wife of the Sun God. Symbolically, the temples unite Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor, and the Sun God.
Temple of Kom Ombo - Perched on high ground overlooking the Nile, this temple is unique for its double entrance, each dedicated to a different deity: Haroeris with a falcon head and Sobek with a crocodile head. The temple honors Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris, the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Kom Ombo is also notable for its vast sugar cane fields.
Edfu Temple / Sailing to Luxor / Karnak and Luxor Temples
Temple of Karnak - The largest temple complex in the world, featuring the avenue of sphinxes of King Ramses II, the world’s largest hypostyle hall with 134 columns, obelisks, and the largest ancient Egyptian lake.
Luxor Temple - Built by several ancient Pharaohs including Ramses, Amenhotep, and Hatshepsut, this temple is dedicated to the sun god Amun Re. After the tour, your guide will return you to your hotel or cruise.
Disembarkation in Luxor / Valley of the Kings / Hatshepsut Temple Note: This tour concludes around 12:00 PM
Valley of the Kings - Home to the tombs of the pharaohs, with well-preserved wall paintings. Your guide will recommend the top three tombs to visit.
