Amazing adventure seeing all that Luxor and Aswan has to offer - What an amazing experience. Bassant who made the arrangements were really helpful and kept in contact beforehand, confirming details of pickup making sure we were handed to our guide Hamdy. We can not praise our guide Hamdy enough, he really brought the history to life. His knowledge of Egyptology is second to none. The ship itself was pleasant and we loved sitting on the deck admiring the views across the Nile. Staff was friendly and always on hand when needed. Food and drinks options were good. Cocktails were on the pricey side but beers (200le) and water were reasonable. We would definitely recommend booking this trip.

Very nice facilities on the Nile river cruise boats - This was my favorite part of our 2 week Egypt trip. The guides, drivers, staff on the river cruise boat were all amazing! The facilities on the river boat exceeded my expectations. We were on the Lady Carol and very comfortable in a triple cabin as a family of 3. Food was great, housecleaning services were exceptional, and we even got our laundry done. We had to pay for entrance tickets, drinks on the boat, and tips but all of this was perfectly communicated ahead of time. No unpleasant surprises or unexpected costs. Two suggestions that might be helpful: 1) We did the 3 night/4 day cruise which was incredible but exhausting! Be prepared for lots of very early mornings (3:30-5:30 am start) and not much sleep. If that doesn’t sound appealing, then choose the 4 night/5day cruise and 2), avoid the horse and carriage ride. We saw horses limping and with open sores pulling tourists in carts and many others clearly in distress from the crazy Luxor traffic (being honked at by huge tourist buses or nearly run over by cars, etc.) It was really sad and depressing. I don’t think anyone in our group enjoyed the horse and carriage. Perhaps if the tour companies get enough feedback from people who don’t like it, they will stop offering this service. I think it’s fine to hire horses/carriages in the country side. Just not in congested traffic where they are in distress and getting injured by vehicles.

Simply Amazing! - Spectacular experience! We booked through Here Egypt Tours. All the staff on the boat were amazingly nice, attentive and made sure we always had anything we needed. Mustafa is the man. It seemed like it was his personal mission to see that our drinks were always full, smile on our faces, and we were always having a great time. Mission accomplished, well done my friend! The food was way better than expected as well. Our guide was Ahmed Abass, who couldn’t have been better. His knowledge and expertise, as well as his humor, made the entire experience that much more amazing. On top of the history lessons at all the incredible temples and sites, he took care of every detail of the trip for us, always acting in our best interest to make sure it was as flawless and perfect as possible. There are A LOT of boats and cruises to choose from, but I 1000% would recommend this cruise. Book through Here Egypt, ask for Ahmed to be your guide, and ask to be on this boat. You won’t regret it. If you have the time, do the 5 day trip. I am going to come back and do the longer one.

First of all, we would... - First of all, we would like to thank Monaliza from Viator who really helped us to set up this trip, she communicated with us upfront to make everything being as smooth as possible. We also very appreciated that she considered our personal demands. Monaliza, thanks a lot for your help!! Regarding the cruise, we had a wonderful time and we had chance to visit marvelous places full of history and beauty, that was mind blowing! The different steps were very well organized and the communication with our guide Shakour was very clear. The room was very nice, perfect for our pre-wedding trip, and travelling with these landscapes were definitely wonderful! The only negative point would be the tipping parts. We have been informed by Monaliza that they would be tips, but we didn't expect that much of tips. Several times a day we were forced to give tips to people and we didn't have the choice of the amount. More especially at the check out of the cruise, the boat manager required a very specific amount for the cruise crew. We would have preferred these tips to be included in the total cost upfront. Apart from that, everything was great and we really recommend the trip!

Ups and Downs - This was a mixed bag for us. I have zero complaints about the boat itself, it was very nice and clean, the room was comfortable, the service top notch from everyone at the front desk to the room stewards and restaurant staff. However, I'm not sure what the process is on how you get assigned to the boat you are put on. We were not on the boat that was pictured nor did any of the photos of the interior match our boat and although there was nothing wrong with our boat, by comparison ours was no where close to the same level of luxury or decor that most of the other boats we walked through were (the boats are docked 4-5 boats deep at each stop and you have to walk through the lobbies of all of the other boats to get to the dock). Here are some general observations, opinions and suggestions and things I didn't fully know or understand that may be of help to others. -Communication with the the tour company was fantastic, Bassant was very responsive...Make sure you have What's App on your phone! -We did the 3 night cruise- NOTE: you are only actually sailing 1 night between Aswan and Luxor....Night 1 you are docked in Aswan and night 3 we were docked in Luxor. -We decided to add on the Nubian Village prior. The boat ride over was very relaxing and the village was a quick fun visit that we enjoyed. However, at a cost of $40 a person for this short excursion was very overpriced and you might be better off on your own. -Egypt can be very rough on tourist with the overly, aggressive street vendors and people demanding tips. Every stop at every temple you have to run a gambit of sorts of people grabbing at you. The boat was a nice reprieve from all of that, the staff were very polite and kept you at ease. The one thing I wish they would change is the photographer stationed outside the lone restaurant that you must pass each time. He was very pushy to take our pictures and guilted us by saying "I'm just doing my job" so we conceded. He harassed us EACH time we went into the restaurant and when we would leave to purchase these pictures and then glared at us every time I said "No" and walked away. No need to treat guest like this when they are a captive audience. -The food at the restaurant was fine. I think its hard to please everyone from all corners of the planet with each meal. I would say overall, the quality of the food as well as the selection were decent. The buffets were plentiful and I think they tried to cater to everyone. Nothing blew my mind but it was decent and we left full each time. My only suggestion- Please make customers aware that there is a drink menu. We had no idea, they had a single copy of a drink menu folded up near the front door and didn't know what they served. NOTE: No beverages are included at meal time (not even water, tea or coffee). You must pay. I saw many people bring their own bottled water in and no one said anything to them. -Probably my biggest suggestion is that there was never a firm itinerary presented to us. We were told day by day what we were doing and when to be ready. Abu Simbel was truly amazing? However, we were told the evening before "be ready for a 4 AM departure" and found out that its a 10 hour excursion with a 4hr drive each way to only spend 2 hours at the site. The driver did not stop once for a break in either direction with no bathroom on the bus. (I realize that he was trying to keep us on time since we got caught in traffic but that is still a long time). -Don't count on sleeping in at all. Of course you have the right not to go on an excursion but you didn't come all the way to Egypt to sleep in on a boat. All three mornings, you are up and out before the sun rises with having to be ready between 4-5AM. The unfortunate part of this itinerary is that the boat have evening events that looked like a lot of fun including a party with belly dancing but we were just too tired to attend after a long day and knowing we had to be up again so early (not too mention, many guests are struggling with jet lag in addition to this schedule). -Don't count on the boats WIFI, it was awful and you have to go the front desk to get a personalized one-time code that you can use on only one device and if your device disconnects, you have to go back to the front desk to get another code. -The horse and carriage ride to Edfu temple was fun, however, when we returned back and the ride ended, the carriage driver tried to shake us down for more tip than what we had already given him. He didn't tell us where we needed to go to get on our boat and we got turned around and was all over the place looking for the boat with no one being able to help us or knowing where our boat was (with so many boats, I did take note of the name of our boat which didn't seem to help anyone locate it for us). We did find our way back eventually. -I know a lot of people mentioned the tipping aspect of this trip but that was not true of the cruise itself. Yes, you are expected to put a one-time group tip in an envelope at the end of the trip but it wasn't anything significant and no one on the boat asks even at mealtime. The tipping gets out of hand because you are expected to give a gratuity to EVERY single person along the way for EVERY one of the excursions from the bus drivers, carriage driver, hot air balloon ground crew, public bathroom fees and the list goes on. Unfortunately, the last few minutes of the trip we left on a sour note. The porters that took our luggage from the boat to the van that was taking us to our hotel in Luxor no sooner put our bags in the van and didn't even give me a moment before they literally were yelling at me for not giving a tip. I gave a tip and then two of them started screaming at me that the tip was not enough. It was so rude and unprofessional to treat their customers like this! Overall, while there were several shortcomings, the trip is a great way to cover a lot of the Nile region. The temples and tombs were an amazing, once in a lifetime experience and I think the cruise company did a good job overall. The majority of the issues I had for the most part were not the fault of the tour company itself but there is some room for improvement as well.
