Abu Simbel Temple Complex - The Abu Simbel Temples, located in southern Egypt near the Sudanese border, were carved into a mountainside during Pharaoh Ramesses II’s reign in the 13th century BCE. These temples were built to honor Ramesses II and his queen, Nefertari, showcasing the grandeur of his reign. The larger temple is dedicated to the gods Amun, Ra-Horakhty, and Ptah, as well as to Ramesses himself, while the smaller temple honors the goddess Hathor and Queen Nefertari. A notable feature of the Abu Simbel Temples is the biannual solar alignment, where the rising sun illuminates the inner sanctum of the Great Temple, casting light on the statues of the gods.

Temple of Kom Ombo - Nestled along a picturesque bend of the Nile River, the Kom Ombo Temple stands out for its dual dedication to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon-headed god. This unique focus is evident in its symmetrical layout, featuring mirrored courts, halls, and sanctuaries. Constructed during the Ptolemaic period between 180 and 47 BCE, the temple later saw use under Roman rule. Kom Ombo is renowned for its well-preserved reliefs and carvings, offering a glimpse into ancient Egyptian religion and medicine, including detailed depictions of surgical tools and procedures. Adjacent to the temple, the Crocodile Museum displays crocodile mummies and artifacts related to Sobek worship, further enhancing the site’s historical significance.

Temple of Horus - After breakfast, take a horse carriage ride with your guide to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, known for being the most well-preserved temple in Egypt. Return to the cruise to relax on deck and enjoy the scenic Nile River views as you sail toward Luxor. You’ll pass through the Esna Lock and have lunch on board. In the afternoon, enjoy tea on the sundeck.

Luxor Temple - In the late afternoon, arrive at your cruise dock and transfer to the Luxor Temple on the East Bank. Discover the fascinating mix of ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic influences. Enjoy dinner on board, complete with a belly dancing show, and spend the night in Luxor.
