Aswan High Dam - Travel to Egypt’s modern marvel, the Aswan High Dam. Construction began in 1960, and it became operational in 1971. Enjoy the view of Lake Nasser, the second-largest man-made lake. Proceed to the pier of your 5-star deluxe cruise ship for check-in and lunch on board.
Abu Simbel Day Tour
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - A breakfast box will be prepared for you. At 4 am, a representative will escort you from the ship lobby for a guided tour of the magnificent Abu Simbel temples, dating back to the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II. A local guide will share the history of these two rock-cut temples and assist in capturing memorable photos. The distance from Aswan to Abu Simbel is approximately 290 km. Return to Aswan for lunch, and the ship will depart, sailing down the Nile to Kom Ombo city.
Temple of Kom Ombo - Officially part of Aswan province, Kom Ombo is 55 km south of Aswan. The ship will dock for a 90-minute tour of the dual Temple of Kom Ombo and the Crocodile Museum, both within walking distance as they are located on the riverbank. Return to the ship for dinner and set sail to Edfu city.
Sailing Down the Nile
Temple of Horus - After breakfast, the guide will accompany you to the Temple of Horus by horse carriage. This is the second-largest and best-preserved temple in Egypt, built in 237 BC. Enjoy a two-hour visit, then return to the ship by horse carriage. Spend the rest of the day sailing the Nile, observing the local life along the riverbanks, until reaching Esna, marking the beginning of Luxor province. Cross the Esna lock and continue navigating down the Nile to Luxor city.
Welcome to Luxor
Valley of the Kings - After breakfast, check out. Luggage can be left on the ship if departing later, or in the vehicle if you wish to be dropped off elsewhere after the tour. For those heading to Hurghada or Marsa Alam, private transfers can be arranged, or drop-off at the bus station is available. Enjoy a full-day tour of Luxor’s most famous attractions, including the Valley of the Kings, the royal cemetery of the New Kingdom Pharaohs from the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties, 3,500 years ago. The guide will help select the best-preserved tombs, as the ticket allows entry to only 3 out of 65 tombs. Some tombs, like King Tutankhamun’s, Ramses VI’s, and King Seti I’s, require an additional charge.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari - A short 10-minute drive from the Valley of the Kings leads to the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the first female Pharaoh of ancient Egypt. This unique building is in a spectacular location.
Colossi of Memnon - Visit the giant statues of King Amenhotep III and the ruins of the largest temple ever built in ancient Egypt. Discover the latest findings on the city’s west bank. Enjoy lunch independently, with recommendations for local restaurants provided by the guide. Then, drive to Luxor city’s east bank.
Temple of Karnak - The guide will accompany you to the largest national monument, the Karnak Temples, a complex built by various kings and dedicated to the main god worshipped by ancient Egyptians, Amun-Ra. It is recommended to have at least 30 minutes of free time after the guide’s explanation for meditation and photography.
Luxor Temple - Conclude the experience at Luxor Temple, a cult temple built by different kings over various periods, starting with King Amenhotep III in 1320 BC, through Alexander the Great and Roman emperors, with structures from the early Christian and Islamic eras. After the tour, drop-off is available at Luxor city hotels, the train station, or the airport. Alternatively, return to the cruise ship to relax until pick-up, two hours before flight departure. For those traveling to Hurghada or Marsa Alam, private transfers can be arranged at the best price, with at least a day’s notice.
