The Unfinished Obelisk is a pink granite obelisk located in the northern part of a quarry near Aswan on the eastern shore of the Nile, about 1 km east of the river. The height of the obelisk would have reached about 41.7 meters, and its base would measure 2.4 meters by 2.4 meters. When completed, it would have weighed about 1168 tons. You’ll also find ancient rock paintings left behind by stone workers.
