High Dam, Kalabsha Temple, Unfinished Obelisk, and Philae Temple

Aswan High Dam - The High Dam of Aswan, an engineering marvel, was constructed in the 1960s. From its summit, visitors can enjoy a stunning view across Lake Nasser towards Kalabsha Temple in the south and a massive power station to the north.

Unfinished Obelisk - The Unfinished Obelisk is located in the granite quarries of Aswan, where much of the red granite for ancient temples and colossi originated. The Obelisk remains in its original location, as a crack was discovered during its carving. A knowledgeable Egyptologist guide will explain the carving process of the 1-tonne obelisk and the reason it was left incomplete.

Temple of Philae - The Philae Temple was meticulously relocated to its current site (approximately 500 meters from its original location) due to the rising Nile waters caused by the High Dam’s construction. A brief motorboat ride will transport you to the island for a guided walking tour of the renowned Philae Temple, followed by free time to explore independently. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, the Philae Temple is beautifully situated on the river, with landscaping that mirrors its original setting.

Abu Simbel (Temple of Ramses II, Temple of Queen Nefertari)

Abu Simbel Temple Complex - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Aswan and taken to Abu Simbel to admire the two Temples of Abu Simbel, celebrated for their distinctive style and regarded as masterpieces of Ancient Egypt. These temples showcase the splendor and magnificence of the New Kingdom. The first Temple of Ramses II is dedicated to four universal gods: Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and Ramses II himself. The second Temple of Queen Nefertari is also known as the Temple of Hathor, the wife of the Sun God. The grand temple of Abu Simbel is also referred to as the Sun Temple of Ramses II. Symbolically, the Temples of Ramses II and Nefertari unite Hathor and the Sun God as one.
