Check-in is available before 12:00 PM. Guests will begin their journey with a delightful lunch on board. Following lunch, they will be taken to visit The High Dam, constructed by Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 AD to safeguard Egypt from the Nile floods. Next, guests will enjoy a motorboat sail on the Nile to reach the Temple of Philae, built during the Graeco-Roman period and dedicated to the goddess Isis. Finally, they will be escorted to see The Unfinished Obelisk, crafted from red granite and dedicated to the god Amun Ra. After the tour, guests will return to their ship. The evening is free for leisure in Aswan.
Temple of Philae - The Philae Temple is a historic site located on the island of Philae in Aswan, Egypt. It is one of Egypt’s most well-preserved temples, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Constructed during the Ptolemaic period, the temple is renowned for its exquisite carvings and inscriptions. Aswan_ Kom Ombo – (Abu Simbel optional)
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - At approximately 4:30 AM, a driver will pick up guests for a trip to Abu Simbel (shared with a small group). Arrival is around 8 AM to explore one of Egypt’s most impressive sites. Abu Simbel is a historic location in southern Egypt, famous for its two massive rock temples built during Pharaoh Ramses II’s reign in the 13th century BCE. These temples are among ancient Egypt’s most remarkable monuments, known for their grand size and intricate carvings. Visitors can marvel at the architecture and carvings’ scale and detail. Abu Simbel is a must-see destination in Egypt, offering an unforgettable glimpse into ancient Egyptian civilization’s grandeur. Guests will return to the cruise by noon for lunch and sail towards Kom Ombo city, continuing navigation to Edfu for an overnight stay.
Temple of Kom Ombo - In the afternoon, guests will join an Egyptologist tour guide to visit the magnificent Temple of Kom Ombo, where the gods Sobek and Haroeris were worshipped. Afterward, guests will return to the ship to enjoy lunch on the sun deck, taking in the unique landscape of the great Nile River. In the afternoon, guests can enjoy a chariot ride to the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of Egypt’s best-preserved temples. After the tour, guests will be transferred back to the ship. The afternoon is for relaxation on board, with dinner served on board. In the evening, an Egyptian Folkloric Show party will be hosted by the onboard staff.
