Embark on a luxurious 3-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor. Experience the wonders of Egypt with a hot air balloon ride, visits to ancient temples, and insights into the Nubian lifestyle.
Aswan Tour
Aswan - Egypt Best Tours’ licensed tour guide will meet and assist you at Aswan Airport or hotel, then transfer you by A/C van to your 5-star Nile Cruise for check-in before lunch on board.
Aswan High Dam - Begin your tour by visiting the Aswan High Dam, one of the world’s largest embankment dams, built across the Nile in Aswan, Egypt, between 1960 and 1970.
Temple of Philae - Continue to the Greco-Roman Temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. This island-based temple complex is located in the reservoir of the Aswan Low Dam, downstream of the Aswan Dam and Lake Nasser. More than two-thirds of Philae’s surviving structures were built during the Ptolemaic era, making it a significant pilgrimage site for Egyptians, Nubians, and pilgrims from as far as Anatolia, Crete, and the Greek mainland. Access the temple via a small motorboat. Later, return to your cruise for a folkloric dinner.
Abu Simbel & Kom Ombo Tour
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - At 4:00 AM, you will be picked up for the Abu Simbel Tour, a 3 to 4-hour drive. Upon arrival, explore the historic site comprising two massive rock-cut temples built by King Ramses II and his beloved Queen Nefertari. The complex was relocated in 1968 to higher ground to avoid submersion by Lake Nasser, the Aswan Dam reservoir. This relocation was part of the International Campaign to Save the Monuments of Nubia, supervised by Polish archaeologist Kazimierz Michałowski. After the tour, drive back to the cruise for lunch and sail to Kom Ombo.
Temple of Kom Ombo - Visit the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, which features a ‘double’ design with duplicated courts, halls, sanctuaries, and rooms for two sets of gods. The southern half is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, while the northern half is dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris. Return to the cruise for dinner and continue sailing to Edfu for an overnight stay.
Edfu Temple - Enjoy Sailing & Esna Lock
Temple of Horus - After breakfast, visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, the largest temple dedicated to Horus. Built during the Ptolemaic Kingdom, the Temple of Edfu is nearly intact and a prime example of an ancient Egyptian temple. Experience a horse carriage ride with your tour guide to visit this well-preserved temple. Return to the cruise and relax on deck, admiring the beautiful scenery of the Nile River while sailing to Luxor. Cross Esna Lock, have lunch on board, and enjoy afternoon tea on the sundeck.
Luxor Temple - Upon arrival at your cruise dock, visit Luxor Temple, a large ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in Luxor (ancient Thebes). Constructed around 1400 BCE, it was known in the Egyptian language as Ipet Resyt, “the southern sanctuary.” The temple showcases ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic features. Enjoy dinner on board and a belly dancing show. If time permits, visit both Karnak and Luxor temples according to your arrival time.
Luxor Tour East Bank & West Bank of Luxor
Hot Air Balloon Luxor Take Off Site - Your guide will pick you up for an amazing hot air balloon flight over the west bank of Luxor. Enjoy an aerial view of the country’s landscape and famous landmarks, and witness the sunrise illuminating the sky of the open-air museum city (Luxor) over the great temples and mountains below.
Valley of the Kings - After breakfast and check-out, start your unforgettable day by driving to the west bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs from the New Kingdom carved their tombs in the mountains to hide their treasures and protect their mummies.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Next, visit the mortuary temple of the famous Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari. Discover her beautiful temple and learn about her intriguing story with her nephew. End your west bank tour with a photo stop in front of the gigantic statues of Memnon. Lunch at a local restaurant (optional).
Temple of Karnak - Return to the east bank to see the largest temple ever built, Karnak Temple, which was constructed over 2,000 years and covers an area of about 63 acres. Take memorable photos among its huge pillars and obelisks. Finally, transfer to your Luxor hotel, airport, or railway station (around 3:00 to 4:00 PM).
