Day Tour to Philae Temple - Check-in Dahabiya - Kom Ombo Temple
Temple of Philae - Begin your journey with a pickup from your Aswan hotel by an expert Egyptologist tour guide to explore the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. After completing your tour, board your Dahabiya sailing boat. The first day’s journey takes you to a charming Nile island for a countryside walk.
Kom Ombo - After enjoying lunch on board, continue sailing towards Kom Ombo.
Temple of Kom Ombo - Proceed to visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, beautifully situated on a promontory at a bend in the Nile, where sacred crocodiles once basked in the sun. This unique temple in Egypt is dedicated to two gods: the local crocodile god Sobek and Haroeris, meaning Horus the Elder. After this visit, transfer back to the Dahabiya to continue sailing towards Gebel el-Silsila.
Gebel el-Silsila & Edfu Temple
Edfu - Delight in a stunning sunrise while relaxing on the sundeck. After breakfast, begin sailing.
- First stop at Gebel el-Silsila, where you can view from the Dahabiya the rock-cut chapels of Horemheb, Seti I, Ramses II, and Merenptah, as well as the sandstone quarries. Then, continue sailing to Edfu.
Temple of Horus - Upon arrival in Edfu, meet your guide who will accompany you to visit the Edfu Temple, a majestic temple dedicated to Horus. It is considered by many to be the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to Egyptian mythology, it is where the falcon-headed god Horus avenged his father Osiris’s murder by killing Seth.
Luxor - The third stop is at Besaw Island, where the boat will moor for the night.
El-Kab Island & Sailing to Esna
Esna - After this excursion, transfer back to the Dahabiya and start sailing to Esna.
Day Tour to West Bank - Check Out Dahabiya
Luxor - After breakfast, check out from the Dahabiya and meet your personal guide, who will accompany you in an air-conditioned car to visit:
Valley of the Kings - Experience the grandeur of the architecture used for burials, with many kings interred in this valley. Visit three tombs, excluding the Tomb of King Tutankhamun.
After the east bank, conclude the service with unforgettable memories.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built by Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt for about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (approximately 1490 to 1469 B.C.), the only female pharaoh to reign over ancient Egypt.
Colossi of Memnon - Visit the Colossi of Memnon, two faceless statues originally representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III, standing majestically at 18 meters tall. These impressive colossi, each carved from a single stone block and weighing 1000 tonnes, were positioned at the eastern entrance to the funerary temple of Amenophis III, the largest on the west bank. Egyptologists are currently excavating the temple, and their findings can be seen behind the colossi.
Temple of Karnak - Proceed to explore the Karnak Temple, an extraordinary complex of sanctuaries, kiosks, pylons, and obelisks dedicated to the Theban triad and the greater glory of pharaohs. Covering more than 2 square kilometers, it’s large enough to contain about 10 cathedrals. At its heart is the Temple of Amun, the earthly ‘home’ of the local god. Built, expanded, dismantled, restored, enlarged, and decorated over nearly 1500 years, Karnak was the most significant place of worship in Egypt during the New Kingdom.
Luxor - Finally, transfer to Luxor and drop off at your chosen location in Luxor (Airport – Station – Hotel).
