A magnificent site, an incredible place saved for posterity. - A magical mystical temple to a long ago Egyptian goddess, with both ancient and incredible modern history combined with technology. Over the years, we have visited many time, first seeing this magnificent place when waters lapped its walls prior to it being moved to a higher site. This time we went after dark, going on the last public ferry boat of the day. It was beautiful to see-in the subtle lighting , the walls glowed, the sounds magnified , and the incredible , almost reverent hush from the gathered visitors, or should one say pilgrims , as we listened to the sonorous voices of the son et lumiere narration. We wandered at our own pace around the beautiful ruins , at peace with the world and a tribute to the magnificence of this late Egyptian site. We slowly wandered back to the ferry point, all the trinket and souvenir vendors had packed up for the night, so we could enjoy our last moments at this wonderful place.
