Ait Ben Haddou - Begin your tour with a morning pickup from your Marrakech accommodation and journey into the High Atlas Mountains in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan. Travel along the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, passing by rural Berber villages where local shepherds tend to their flocks as they have for millennia. Walk through the oasis to the impressive Todra Gorge, where a deep crevasse in the orange limestone offers breathtaking views. Enjoy lunch at your leisure (at your own expense) in one of the local cafes. In the afternoon, visit the sacred town of Rissani — the birthplace of Morocco’s ruling royal family and the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region. Continue to Merzouga, a small village on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Meet your camel caravan and, as the sun sets, journey towards Erg Chebbi and your desert camp.
