MARRAKECH / TIZI N’TICHKA /KASBAH AIT BEN HADDO / DADES (340 km)

Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou - Begin your journey to Dadès via Ouarzazate, crossing the Tizi N’Tichka pass with its stunning panoramas at an altitude of 2260m. Continue to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, showcasing traditional pre-Saharan architecture. Some buildings resemble small castles with high towers adorned with mud brick patterns. The oldest structures date back to the 12th century. After lunch, proceed to Dades along the road of a thousand kasbahs via Skoura, traveling through a beautiful valley in the heart of the Valley of Roses and Dades, passing through small authentic villages. The next stop is Tissadrine Road, considered one of the most beautiful in the world, located in the Dades (Gorges du Dades) about 18 km after the Valley of the Figs. (Snack road) (Dinner/overnight).

DADES / DADES VALLEY / TOUDRA GORGES /ERFOUD / MARZOUGA / LUXURY BIVOUAC (250 KM)

Merzouga - After breakfast, depart for Dades Valley. Explore the valley via an amazing 25km round trip road, discovering the surprising Monkeys Fingers Rocks and an exceptional variation of colors within this natural landscape. Continue towards Tinghir for a walk in the captivating Toudra Gorges, where high limestone cliffs surround you, reaching up to 300m in height! Proceed to Erfoud Town, then head to the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes. In the late afternoon, settle into your luxurious bivouac and meet the guides for a camel ride through the dunes to witness a stunning sunset. Upon return, enjoy dinner and a lively evening in the mystical desert atmosphere, creating magical and memorable moments! (Dinner/overnight).

MERZOUGA / RISSANI / ALNIF / NKOB / AGDZ / OUARZAZATE / ZAGORA (290KM)

Ait Ben Haddou - After breakfast, depart from the beautiful Sahara of Merzouga towards Rissani, Alnif, Nkob, and finally Zagora Town, crossing the Small Atlas Mountains along the same route as the Timbuktu Caravan. Enjoy the wonderful landscapes along the way before arriving at a lovely Riad in Zagora City. Relax in the afternoon by the swimming pool after your incredible Sahara Desert experience. Accommodation and dinner.

ZAGORA/DRAA VALLEY/AGDEZ / OUNILA VALLEY / TALOUATE / MARRAKECH (360KM)

Ounila Valley - After breakfast, depart for Marrakech through the Draa Valley, the largest and longest valley of palm trees in southern Morocco, stretching over 250 km and home to more than 34 varieties of date fruits. Cross the High Atlas Mountains with their amazing landscapes via the Ounila Valley to visit the Kasbah of Télouet, the birthplace of the autocrat Pasha el-Glaoui, and the Kasbah Glaoui, built between the 19th and 20th centuries. After lunch, depart for the return journey to Marrakech.

An amazing 3 days traveling from Fez to Marrakesh - thanks to Mestafa and Zaki - My wife and I had an amazing 3 day, 2 night private tour that Zaki arranged for us. First I want to say that the driver Zaki gave us was amazing - a really lovely gentleman named Mestafa. As much as we saw incredible things over the 3 days, really Mestafa's company was the high point. Now to what we saw. First, before our tour started we spent a few nights in Fez - which was wonderful. After that Mestafa picked us up in the morning and drove us through the atlas mountains - stopping briefly in Ifraine (a lovely town - though we only spent an hour or so in order to fit everything in). We then stopped to see the Barbary macaque monkeys in the cedar forest. As much as we didn't like the fact that these monkeys come out of the forest because of tourists feeding them, it was still amazing to spend some time watching the families of monkeys play. After that we drove to the Sahara camp near Mergouza - though with some quick stops to take photos at some great viewpoints. The Luxury camp was very comfortable and the experience of riding camels through the sand dunes at sunset was incredible. If I had more time I would go into more detail, but suffice it to say it was quite magical. The next day we traveled again through the Atlas mountains, first traveling up the Todra gorge, then back down to the main road towards the Dades valley, and up into the valley. It was hard not to keep stopping over an over to take pictures as the scenery changed over and over - with different types of landscapes, from borderline desert to lush oasis, with incredible rock formations along the way. This is where I really want to thank Zaki. He planned a great trip for us - even though 3 days and 2 nights was way to short for what we were seeing (but that was the amount of time we had already planned for). We stayed at a lovely hotel in the Dades valley with terraces built into the side of the mountain, and views of the "garden" - the oasis gardens around the river at the bottom - from the terraces, and an amazing meal at the restaurant included with our tour (even better as we are vegetarians, and they did an amazing job catering to our needs). The last day of our tour, Zaki had arranged a 1 hour tour (which ended up a bit longer) of Aït Benhaddou - an ancient Kasbah which has been featured in a ton of movies (and for good reason). After that we drove through yet more mountains between their and Marakesh - these even starker - reminding us of the Rockies in terms of their heigh and sheer beauty. While both Fez (where we started) and Marakesh (where we ended) were amazing experiences, the high point of our trip to Morrocco was the 3 days we spend with Mestafa exploring stunning scenery, history and heritage. We would recommend reaching out to Zaki to plan whatever tour you desire in Morrocco, and if Mestafa is available we would recommend you ask for him.
