Recommended excursion through the Atlas to Aït-Ben-Haddou. - We had a great experience on this private excursion through the Atlas to Aït-Ben-Haddou from Marrakech, thanks to our driver Abdul Latif and our local guide Ali. I had mixed feelings beforehand about enduring the long drive with 4 young children under 6 years old (2 - 3 - 5 - 6 years old), but everything went quite smoothly. We were picked up at 08:00 at our hotel by our driver Abdul Latif. After the first introduction we drove towards the Atlas Mountains. We had equipped ourselves with smartphones and tablets to keep the children entertained during the long drive. It was also very hot, about 45°C, so we had brought enough water. Our mini-van also had air conditioning, which we could regulate ourselves so that we did not suffer too much from the heat. Two children did get a bit nauseous because of the many bends through the Atlas Mountains. After 1.5 hours we made our first stop at a roadside restaurant, with a view, for a pee break and to stretch our legs. When continuing our journey we stopped shortly afterwards at an old mountain village where we bought some quartz stones as a souvenir, and a little further on we visited a small shop where they produced Argan oil from Argan kernels. Then we drove on to the highest mountain pass in North Africa, Tizi-N-Tichka (2,269 meters). We took some pictures of the view and then continued our way to Aït-Ben-Haddou. Almost arrived in Aït-Ben-Haddou our driver first stopped to take some pictures from a distance, after which we had an extensive lunch a little further on on the roof terrace of a local restaurant with a great view of the Ksar Aït-Ben-Haddou. After lunch we met our guide Ali. He took us on a journey and gave us a lot of information about the history of the Ksar Aït-Ben-Haddou and of course about the many films that were recorded here. (The most recent was the new Gladiator film with Denzel Washington) Almost at the top, the weather changed for a moment due to a sandstorm. But we saw it positively because it was a bit windy and the sun was a bit hidden, making it much cooler and more pleasant to reach the top, where we again had a beautiful view of the area around the Ksar Aït-Ben-Haddou. We descended back down and said goodbye to our guide Ali and then started our return journey to Marrakech. After a 3.5 to 4 hour drive we were dropped off at our hotel and also said goodbye to our driver, Abdul Latif. The end of the excursion. In short: a great experience richer, thanks to the organizers. Everything was carried out according to wishes and according to the expectations of what was previously agreed. Shokran!!

Super recommended - a must in your trip to Marrakech - We had an incredible tour of Ait Ben Haddou and the Road of the Kasbahs from Marrakesh with our guide Medhi. His knowledge and enthusiasm brought the history and culture to life. The private tour allowed us to explore at our own pace and discover hidden gems. Get out of the city and see why so many movies film here - From the moment our driver Abdul picked us up, we were greeted with warmth, professionalism, and great humor. We felt completely safe on the long and winding roads to Ait Ben Haddou. Abdul made sure we had enough bathroom stops and also made sure we stopped for great panoramic photos along the way. You can sit back and relax with Abdul at the wheel. Once we arrived, he introduced us to our wonderful guide Ali. Ali was so knowledgeable and funny, and made sure we had breaks from the stairs and heat. We asked a lot of questions and learned so much about the Berber culture and language. It was a lovely experience we won't forget!

Thank you Zakaria - Private excursion to Ait Ben Haddou organized by Zaki/Zakaria who we highly recommend. Comfortable vehicle, Zakaria takes the time, gives a lot of explanations, you can tell that he loves his country and is passionate about his job. The 2-hour visit to the Kasbah was enchanting. Meal then from a panoramic terrace restaurant. Return via an alternative route offering breathtaking landscapes. The tour is worth as much for Ait Ben Haddou as the landscapes crossed, the numerous Berber villages and the pass at 2200m in the High Atlas. Thank you again for this wonderful day!
