Great trip to Ouarzazate! - Great day in Ouarzazate (Atlas studio, Ait bin Haddou). True to plan. Our driver Youness, it is well taken care of us: punctual, with little care. I recommend.

Beautiful ride out to Ait Ben Haddou. Berber villages are incredible to see. Well worth the cost of a private trip. - Muhammad was a great guide and helped us with the history of the Berber people. Well worth the time to see. I would skip Atlas Studio and spend more time at the other sites

Long day but worth it! - We booked this private tour for our group of 6. It was a very long drive - it took 4 hours each way. The weather at the start and end of the day was misty and wet. Our driver Yasin did a great job - he drove safely and skill fully along the winding route. We made stops along the route at panoramic points to take pictures. Yasin took some lovely group pictures for us. We stopped briefly at a women’s almond oil cooperative which we enjoyed. We then visited Ait ben Haddou where we met our guide Ali. It was a lovely visit and Ali was a great tour guide. We then stopped for some lunch at a very large very busy restaurant. Our next stop was the film studio where we joined a 45 minute tour run by the studio. We all enjoyed this. After a short visit to view a kasbah we were ready to go home! It was a very long day and Im glad the younger members of our family didn’t come on this tour as I think it would’ve been too long for them, however we enjoyed it and had a memorable day. The views were beautiful and both our driver and the guide in Ait ben Haddou did a great job.

Scenic and Culturally Rich Tour, but Disappointing Closure at Ait Benhaddou - Our private guided tour from Marrakech to Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou was a mix of stunning landscapes, cultural insights, and a frustrating surprise at the end. The day started smoothly at 7:00 AM. Since cars weren’t allowed near our riad, our driver, Yusuf, arranged a nearby meeting point and kept us informed via WhatsApp. He was friendly and accommodating, ensuring we were comfortable in the VW van. Though the journey was long (3 to 4 hours), the scenic stops—coffee breaks, an argan oil cooperative, and breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains—made it enjoyable. A big plus was that there was no pressure to buy anything. In Ouarzazate, we explored a historic Berber kasbah with a knowledgeable local guide who even helped us capture great photos. After the tour, we were offered mint tea and had the opportunity to purchase beautifully crafted Berber and Tuareg carpets—completely optional. Since we weren’t interested in the movie studios, we opted to spend extra time at Ait Benhaddou instead. Lunch was at a large tourist-friendly restaurant with tagines and pizzas priced around 140 DH per person. Then came the biggest disappointment: upon arriving at Ait Benhaddou, we found out it was closed due to the final day of filming for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie The Odyssey. This was the highlight of the tour, and we weren’t informed in advance. Had we known, we would have appreciated the chance to reschedule or choose a different excursion. Instead, a young and enthusiastic Berber guide provided insightful explanations, but we could only admire the city from afar. The return trip to Marrakech took 3.5 hours, bringing us back at 6:30 PM. While the journey was beautiful and the guides were excellent, the lack of prior notice about Ait Benhaddou’s closure left a bitter taste. A great tour overall, but better communication from the tour operator was needed.

Ait Ben Haddou closed - The Ait Ben Haddou was closed and no one told us that in advance. The trip is super long and if we had been warned that it was closed, we would not have taken the tour
