DO NOT MISS this food tour. A fabulous experience - Loved the planning & delivery behind this 4+ hour tour. The hours flew by, and every food stop felt unique, “hand-picked” and very local. Needless to say, that everything was delicious. Family run shops/restaurants, some for many generations. Two of the places we visited had more than 100 years of history in the same family. Athens Historic Center is a food paradise which we may not have found without Athens Bites. We have already been back to some of the places for more like the epic ice cream shop, the souvlaki joint and the pastries “hole in a wall”. Valentini is an amazing guide with a very friendly and easy-going personality; I enjoyed her hospitality, knowledge, & attentiveness. Value was excellent. Don't hesitate. Join them!

Could not be better! - This was a very well-planned tour. We were guided and fed through 10 different stops, all local gems and small businesses and one was better than the other. It was so hard to decide at the end which was our favorite as everything was fresh, delicious and memorable. Super fresh pies? Incredible souvlaki? Outstanding variety of cheeses? Olive oil or honey tasting? Loukoumades? The Greek flavor gelato? Valentini made this experience really delightful. Value was excellent. We highly recommend this tour.

Best possible way to discover and enjoy Athens! - We've been to many food walks around the globe but the experience with Athens Bites was by far my favorite as it goes beyond food and you can tell there is attention and care to every detail. We appreciate small groups which allows for intimacy and a good pace so as to be able to absorb the flavors, the smells, the tastes and interact with local people. At the end our stomachs were full with marvelous food and our minds - with wonderful memories. Valentine’s storytelling and charismatic personality made this a magnificent and unforgettable adventure. Strongly recommended to anyone visiting Athens! Best to book early in your stay.

Gastronomic delight. Loved every moment of this tour. - Our tour with Vana was phenomenal. This was a private tour mainly organized for my husband’s family from Canada as I was born in Greece but left for studies and stayed there. I thought it would enjoy it as well but omg it blew my mind. It was such a well-researched itinerary with so much great food. Lots of secret places that probably would never find on our own. We sampled tons of great food, baked goods (cheese pie, spinach pie, meat pie, bougatsa), gyros souvlaki, Greek coffee with loukoumi, several of spoon sweets flavors, honey and olive oil tasting, charcuterie, ice cream and more. All the members of the group were very impressed and agreed this was the highlight of the visit to Athens. Thank you Vana and Athens Bites.

Gastronomic delight - Precisely what you want from a food tour. Many yummy bites, an amazing guide and interesting stories. Highly recommended as you will get to enjoy a variety of great food unlikely to find on your own and walk to parts of the city again unlikely to find on your own. Our guide, Eleni, was enthusiastic, sweet, knowledgeable, and very attentive. She also gave great recommendations for our trip. We tried 4 restaurants/tavernas from her list and they were all great. Excellent value!

Wonderful food tour - This tour was a great way to explore the city and eat local foods. Valentini is a great tour guide. She is personable and knowledgeable about all the food and its history. Generations of Food on one Tour - Valentino was great, fluent in English and attentive. Some of the food places she took us to were owned by the same family for over one hundred years. We would never have found them without Athens Bites tours! Don’t hesitate to book this - your tummy will thank you! So worth it.

A highlight of our Athens trip - Valentini’s food tour was a highlight of our trip to Athens. We highly recommend. Valentini taught us about food, but also about the Greek culture. She was so engaging for us and our teenage kids. We also loved meeting all the small family purveyors during the tour.

Amazing food tour with superb guide! - This tour was absolutely fabulous. Our guide Valentini was amazing! She has an excellent knowledge of the history of Greek food, the various cultural influences and the restaurant food scene in Athens. We had souvlaki, loukoumades, cheese tastings , honey, tastings, artisanal ice cream, spinach pies and olive oil! We really had the best of the best while seeing the central market and the historic district! It was an excellent experience which we would highly recommend!
