Perfect private cruise excursion in Athens - Private tour booked with JG Athens Tours - Full day Athens Sightseeing & Cape Sounion/Temple of Poseidon Tour. Early ship arrival at 6:30 am. All clear for disembarking was given at 7:30, and we were among the first few off to meet our guide George, who was waiting with a sign for us right outside the terminal. We immediately departed and were taken directly to the Acropolis, where we could view or tour. We could decide how much time we wanted to spend at each location. We made several more stops throughout the day, with great information, direction, history and mythology from George. There were even DVD presentations while driving to sites, which would tell you about sites before arrival. We wanted authentic Greek home style food, and were taken to a wonderful family run tavern on the outskirts of Athens. We feasted! It was fresh, delicious and very affordable. We had some time in Old Town, and also visited a local bakery (our request). This tour included all the sites mentioned in tour description, and a few additional requests. The tour was totally customized. We had a comfortable car with cold A/C in August, a very friendly, professional and knowledgeable driver, and saw so much in 7+ hours. We were back on our ship by 3:00 pm. I highly recommend JG Athens Tours for professional service and a memorable day in Athens.

Fantastic and informative way to visit Athens - We booked with JG based on a recommendation from a friend and are very glad we did. Communication prior to arriving was excellent. Our driver, George, was waiting for us as soon as we walked off the ship. He catered the day to whatever we wanted to do while also providing his recommendations of what would work best. We had a small initial delay right when we started due to the police requiring paperwork from the tour operators (this seemed to be a common thing). Then we were off to the Acropolis. I was appreciative of how George provided video in the car (drop down in the back and in the dash up front) that provided some historical reference to the various places we were viewing. I thought that was definitely going above and beyond and it was also incredibly helpful. My oldest daughter wanted to visit a beach there so we drove outside the city with plans to stop at one on the way to Cape Sounion. When my daughter discovered her bathing suit strap had broke, George was kind enough to take us somewhere so she could get another one. The highlight of the trip for me was Cape Sounion. As stunning as it was, there were hardly any people there and it was wonderful. We enjoyed lunch at a restaurant at the base of it that George had recommended. The city of Athens seemed rather hectic so it was nice driving to Cape Sounion and seeing a more subdued side of the area. George got us back to our ship in plenty of time and overall it was a delightful day. I wouldn't hesitate to book again and would definitely recommend!

Athens was wonderful - JG Athens did a great job with communications, very responsive and accommodating. I made my reservation 7 months out. Our driver Andreas provided good information on our drive. The restaurant recommended for lunch in Sounion was fantastic. The tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable. I appreciated the fact I didn't have to pay until end of tour. The vehicle was clean and provided plenty of water. I also used JG Athens for the Corinth half day private tour. I would use this company again.

Athens in a Day - You get to see a lot of historic sites on this tour. John was very resourceful and passionate.He was very hospitable.Our first time in Athens is unforgettable.I would highly recommend this tour.

Very nice experience in Athens - I took a full day private tour with JG Athens tours. John was very quick to respond and booked the tour for me right away. My driver Michael was very professional and a great personality who took me around. Since I was short of time this private tour helped me visit Athens in a way that I had control on which location I want to spend more time and where I want to skip. If you are visiting Athens and need a private tour I recommend them. Do remember they are not tour guides so they won’t come with you inside the attractions. If you like exploring Athens on your own with your own vehicle and driver, then this company is great for you.

The BEST EVER tour of Athens with JG Tours 😁 - John picked us up promptly from our hotel at 8am and whisked us off for a magical tour of beautiful Athens. John was a brilliant tour guide, he was fun and so knowledgeable and informative about all the sights he took us to see. He chauffeured us expertly through the manic Athens traffic in his comfortable Mercedes making us feel like VIP’s. At no point were we rushed, he allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted at all the sights after telling us the history of each site we went to. We saw and learnt so much on the day which would probably have taken a week if we had tried to do it on public transport. Also, for lunch he took us to a restaurant which was off the tourist trail and used by the locals - the food was cheap with loads of choice and so tasty! We had a fantastic day and it was great value for money, thank you so much John - you made an amazing memory for us both 😘

Awesome - Our Whole trip and stay in Athens was good thanks to John , (JG Athens Tours) His promptness and good knowledge of the places we visited. At each place we were given enough time to see and enjoy. Also the Videos he played which gave detailed information of the place we were going to visit was very informative. Mr.John had also booked our train tickets, Rack Railway (Odontotos) for the route Kalavryta , where we had gone on day trip to Caves of Kalavryta.

Athens at its best with JG Tours - We used JG Athens Tours - 8 years ago. John was our guide and driver for the day at that time. I kept John's card all this time and we immediately reached out to JG Athens Tour without hesitation. We just got back from a cruise with Athens being the disembarkation day of the cruise. We hired JG Athens Tours again for a private (3 person) tour. Once again, they didn't let us down. Alexander M picked us up at the cruise ship - and we embarked on a fabulous day. The tour agenda was perfect - we saw all the sites we wanted to - enjoyed Alexander's interaction and professionalism. The best way to see a foreign country. Alexander assisted in us getting a Covid Test for the flight home. We made yet another friend in Greece. We definitely will use them again - and have extended invitations to Alexander if every visiting the US. Well worth it !!!!
