Best Walking Food Tour in Athens - I heard about Athens Food on Foot originally from a Greece Travel Secrets podcast. It sounded like exactly what I was looking for. The start time got moved back due to a strike, but the timing worked great for us. Eleftherios met us at the arranged time and place and we started off in our small group of six to taste and explore. We had an 84 year old with us and he was able to keep up just fine with the pace. We traveled about 2.5 miles over fairly flat terrain in several neighborhoods over 4 hours. The food was all delicious and new to our palates. We ended the tour with a feast of scrumptious goodies to eat with a glass of local wine. All of this was while we listened to history of the area. I would highly recommend this tour if you have a half day to spend in Athens. Don’t eat before you come!

Tasting tour - What can I say about this walking tour from the start to finish this was our best experience of Athens and it’s food culture and history tolled to us by our guide (lefie)sorry if I pronounced it wrong. But the food tasting from cakes, meats and pastries was exceptional would recommend anyone visiting Athens to try this

Food galore - We have done a few of the foodie city tours and this one is up at the top. We had such fun with Maria who made the tour light hearted and engaging explaining a lot about local culture. There is quite a bit of walking but you visit places you would never stumble across. There is a lot of food. I was full! Maria then pointed out a roof top bar to watch the sunset.

Highly recommended! - We had a fantastic tour because we had a fantastic guide in Maria. There is plenty of food on the tour, so definitely don’t have lunch before you start! Maria explained about all the different food we tried and also about the history of the people of Athens. We had local bread, Greek coffee, pastries and pasties. We thought we were coming to the end of the tour with a selection of nuts and an Ouzo, when Maria announced we were off to eat! We stopped in a locals restaurant and shared a number of dishes including pork, large beans, father beans, fish and garlic potatoes. The food was excellent and it was great to share a variety of dishes. Maria still was not done with us, as we had Greek donuts to finish! Thanks to Maria for being a great guide and host!

Wonderful food and friend in local neighborhoods - We had a delightful afternoon with Maria. We ate until I thought we would pop! We had Greek donuts, baklava, koyaoypi, pie (spinach, feta and honey, and custard), a charcuterie board - cheeses, meats and olives, and then we sat down to a meal of tapas- stuffed peppers, stuffed grape leaves, Mussaka, slow cooked lamb, tiziki, beans, bread, traditional custard. As we walked through markets and neighborhoods, Maria shared history, architecture, tips and recipes. We now have a new friend who has increased our knowledge of Greece. My husband has a bad knee and she was so thoughtful of his needs, walking very slowly to accommodate him, finding chairs at every stop in which he could rest. She could not have been kinder. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her and would 💯% recommend this tour with Maria if you like to eat.

Recommend 🇬🇷😊 - Very good tasting selection. It starts out slow but ends with a bang 😊 Guide was good. But more local history, as in past food tours, would improve the experience.
