Glyfada - Glyfada is the heart of the Athens Riviera, offering stunning views of the Saronic Gulf. This is why Glyfada is the ultimate summer hotspot for Athenians! Its signature feature is its marina, a mega-yacht destination that adds a cosmopolitan touch to the area. Beautiful beaches, recreation parks, playgrounds, shopping centers, and stylish restaurants all contribute to a carefree summer atmosphere.

Lake Vouliagmeni - A brief stop for photos will be made at Vouliagmeni Lake. This lagoon formed around 2,000 years ago, originally a large cavern that collapsed after an earthquake. The outline of the collapsed cavern roof is clearly visible from afar. The lake has unique environmental conditions: it is fed with warm seawater (28-35ºCelsius) through an underground channel that spreads through a network of flooded caves, keeping its temperature above 18 °C (usually around 21-24 °C). A freshwater spring reduces its salinity to brackish levels (14.5-18 psu). Due to its consistently warm water and rich hydrogen sulfide content, the lake has served as a spa since the late 19th century.
-
Varkiza - Varkiza is a charming seaside village halfway to Cape Sounion. The area is popular with Athenians for short trips due to its beaches, shops, and clubs.
-
Temple of Poseidon - The Temple of Poseidon is perched atop a hill where the Saronic Sea meets the Aegean Sea. Dedicated to the god Poseidon, the lord of the sea, sailors would offer a final sacrifice here to appease Poseidon before venturing beyond the safety of the Saronic Gulf. According to Greek mythology, Cape Sounion is where King Aegeus of Greece leapt to his death, mistakenly believing his son had died. This ancient tragic tale features a theme still prevalent in modern storytelling.
-
Lagonisi - Lagonisi is a coastal residential area in the southern part of Kalyvia Thorikou in East Attica. It is located near the shore on a peninsula by the Saronic Gulf. Restaurants, cafes, and bars are primarily found in the heart of Lagonisi. The return journey to Athens takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
